GYEAH.com Mix CDs
Burn to this!

This CD Compiled by Charmel

Welcome to GYEAH.com Mix CDs! This column was designed for all us internet junkheads out there who never buy CDs and get them the new fashioned way....illegally. "Illegally" sounds so harsh though, let's just assume that we all own every CD we mention, and we can put this whole legality mess behind us and not let people who know nothing about music (politicians and businesssmen) decide how we should have access to music.

But in the meantime, all of us foolios who have a CD burner (and there are alot of us) are always looking for compilation CDs to burn. I know sometimes my creativity runs dry and you can only burn so many different rap CDs. Somedays I wish someone would open me up to a world of different music and just hand me a compilation CD with all the best tracks that I SHOULD be checking out. Well this column was made for that very purpose.

We at GYEAH.com have very different musical tastes and we know you do to. But there's always something out there we're missing. So with that in mind, we're going to bring you various Mix CDs that we think you should "download" and burn and play until your CD player falls apart. Well rather than ramble on any more, let's get to the tunes....

Today's Mix CD was brought to you by Charmel, and here's some info about him:

To start the CD off, you’ve got one of the best “car tunes” that I’ve heard in a while.  If you’re anything like me, and I know you aren’t, you listen to a lot of music on the road.  The first track will prepare you well for a journey to Burger King or something like that.  After our alternative beginning, we take a turn in the other direction with two tracks from Outkast.  Of course, both “Gasoline Dreams” and “Xplosion” retain a bit of a rock tone as they have fairly hard edged themes.  “All Fall Down” starts out with a nice guitar solo and finishes with some solid rap from, gasp, a Christian group.  “Stutter” is one of the few R&B tracks I can stand anymore, and I actually like this one.  “Supreme Being” will remind you of a Yuban commercial, but it’s another solid offering from Grits.  We start getting back to what you’d expect from me at track six, as Eve6 comes out firing.  I followed “On The Roof Again” with a song that you really need to crank to totally experience, Everclear’s “Misery Whip.”  This song has some of the best progression on the guitar I’ve heard in a long while.  “All My Fault” continues to speed up the pace of the CD with Fenix TX’s brand of punk rock.  Track 10 brings one of my all-time favorite Offspring songs, “Want You Bad.”  Before we start to slow the CD back down, I had to throw in “Sleep Now In The Fire” to remind you all just how great Rage Against The Machine has been.  Tracks 12 and 13 start to slow the CD down for the finish with a coupld of somewhat moody songs that really hold their own.  Taking a turn toward the pop and folk realms, the Barenaked Ladies bring out their waltz-like final track from “Maroon” for your enjoyment.  “Grown Men Don’t Cry” is really a great song that’ll probably get to you a little bit if you’ve got any soul left.  Finally, I throw in my feel-good song of the year, “The One” Billy Gunn’s WWF entrance music, “I’ve Got It All.”  Go ahead and sing this to yourself while you flex in front of the mirror...you’ll have a field day with this one.

Well, there’s my first entry into the realm of the Gyeah.com Mix CD world.  These are some of the songs that I currently see as worthy of taking up three to four minutes of my time per day, and I think they should be a welcome addition to yours.  Either that or you can just continue to listen to your Rick Springfield tapes while you iron your Hammer pants. Toodles.
