XFL

-The Million Dollar Game-

A Column by

GYEAH.com Staff

This is it folks, the final game in the XFL's first season. Will it be the last XFL game ever? It doesn't look that way, but it very well could be. Most likely it's the last game on NBC as it's a ratings stinker. "You are the weakest link...goodbye," could be the words uttered by Dick Ebersol after this game as he cancels XFL from next year's lineup. But that doesn't have to happen..it's up to you. If every damn fan from the beginning tunes in for this game, there is one last chance. One last chance for the LA Xtreme or San Francisco Demons to have a football championship, one last chance for the players to show they can still do it, one last chance for Vince McMahon, one last chance for the XFL...

What you need to know (from XFL.com): Thanks to their 33-16 win over the Chicago Enforcers on Sunday night, the Los Angeles Xtreme move on to the "Million Dollar Game," where they will host the San Francisco Demons this Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Can Tommy Maddox lead his team toward the jackpot or will the boys from the Bay Area prove to be too much? The XFL's version of the NoCal/SoCal rivalry goes to a third game this season - and this time, there's $1 million on the line!

PREDICTIONS

Goc (24-18) says: The perfect game? I think so. The Rage are nothing without Brohm, and if the Enforcers made it, I wouldn't be surprised if John Avery faked another injury. Yes, I'm still pissed at Avery for no-showing the Hitmen/Enforcers game that many of us attended. But enough of my ranting, let's get back to what matters...THE MILLION DOLLAR GAME. The Demons vs. The Xtreme...I can't wait. I'm hosting a little shindig at my cave to watch the game and 3 of the 4 on our panel will be in attendance. Skow is venturing all the way from Chicago and Hoss will make the hour drive from Tama, IA (with Shooks riding shotgun). It will be an XFL, beer, and GYEAH.com love fest. When we're not eating pizza and pouring beer down our throats, I believe there will be on hell of a game on the TV. The league MVP, Maddox going toe-to-toe with the Demons and Mike Pawlawski. I think this is going to go down to the wire, with Jose Cortez deciding the outcome of the game on his kicking skills. Will he choke causing Maddox to snap and maim him? I don't think so, the roofer will split the uprights, Xtreme 22-20.

Vigilante (25-17) says
: So, it all comes down to the showdown in California. San Fransico vs. LA. I never would have picked the Demons making it to the final game, with their up and down haphazard style of play. The Xtreme are running on all cylinders, Mcullough has given LA that second threat in offense that they needed to dominate and spread the field on offense. San Fran on the other hand is pretty confused as to whom exactly will be their helmer, and their running game is all but existent. However, San Fran's defense is pretty solid, far superior to the Xtreme's DL. Everything in the world tells me the Xtreme is going to win, and I agree with them, but I'm going to have to go against the evidence of the Superbowl and pick the defense to win. (That and tha fact that I HAVE to go against anything Hoss says.) Demons win 25-24

Hoss (26-16) says: My sadness of Chicago winning last week's game is overshadowed by my shaking genitals for the game of the year. The Demons drive down the beautiful California coast to LA. What do these teams have in common? What do they not have in common? Well, both cities are indeed mentioned in songs by Nelly and both are anchored by jesuit QB's. The two teams have split this year with each one winning the game on their own turf. I'm just too excited for the game of the year. I've been told by the host (Goc) of Saturday's game that 3 pizza's will be purchased for 9.99. The week just keeps getting more and more exciting. As far as i am concerned this year's records...victories..standout players.. means nothing! I would massacre anyone for a share in that million. I believe that the Xtreme will be the XFL's inagural season champion with the score of 30-15. 3 PIZZA'S!

Skow (20-18) says: Personally I would have enjoyed the "Million Dollar Game" a lot more if Chicago would have won last week. Not only for the fact that the Enforcers would have been playin' for a million, but I would have been at the game. If Chicago would have won last week, Chicago would have played host to this game. Oh well, you can't win them all. The first and hopefully not the last Million Dollar Game will be an all California game featuring San Fran vs.. LA. These teams have faced each other twice already and each has won on their home field. Recently named "Player of the Year" Tommy Maddox will lead his team at home against a San Fran team that has yet to declare a starter at QB. The Demons are reporting that Mike Pawlawski is good to go, but coach Jim Skipper has yet to disclose who his main man will be. Demon QB's Scott Milanovich and Pat Barnes (who won last weeks playoff game) will both be ready to go also. I'd like to go with the underdogs here but after the Xtreme showed us what they can do against the Demons in week 10 (a 24-0 stomping) I'd be dumb to bet against them. Look for Tommy Maddox to rise to the occasion and like I said earlier in the season, make some NFL scout's mouths water again. I'm taking the Xtreme in this inaugural Million Dollar Game. 26-18

Vegas (24-17) says: Xtreme over Demons by 8.

GYEAH.com (26-17) WINNER:
