-Screenplays are the
epitome of creativity in my mind. Anyone can be interesting and creative for a handful of
sections, but only the greats can command your attention for over an hour. View some of
the GYEAH Staff and reader written screenplays and see if they can command yours:
SCREENPLAYS:
-An Original Screenplay- Background: -On September 25th, 2000 Project Greenlight was announced. Greenlight is/was a screenplay contest. With the winner(s) getting the money to direct their screenplay for the big screen. In early 2000, The Goc saw this contest and with the help of Vigilante, and Skizzow. they threw together a damn funny little script in just under 3 weeks. They claim only 5 of those days were actually writing. Quite a feat in its own right. But on Dec. 1st, Greenlight cut down to the Top 250, and Don't Believe the Hype was eliminated. But its currently under revision and will be submitted elsewhere.
Summary: -"Don't Believe the Hype" is a story about a teen named Josh, who falls in to he media spotlight for saving a famous "pop star". He hates his name being associated in the same sentence as this star, and starts doing all he can to rid himself of this cursed hype.
