The Man Behind Chris Jericho.......com

MariahCarey.com, MelGibson.com, Eminem.com, JesusChrist.com...the list goes on and on. It seems like every celebrity has their own website these days. Hell even bootleg celebritys have their own sites (www.jennifer-connelly.com). Who in gods name really wants to find out the latests news on some of these people? Who cares what they're doing now, besides maybe their mother and their stalker? I'm clueless. But among all these celebrity sites, there are a rare few that are actually entertaining and worth visiting. CHRISJERICHO.COM IS ONE OF THOSE.

We at GYEAH.COM are big Chris Jericho fans and fans of the website, and we wanted to get behind the url and see what makes the site tick. We tracked down Lee Wren, the webmaster, and got some words with him about Chrisjericho.com and what it was like to run a celebrity website:

WORDS WITH LEE WREN (WEBMASTER OF CHRISJERICHO.COM):

Q - How did you get the job as the webmaster for the official Chris Jericho website?

A - Just over 3 years ago Chris and I were talking about the internet and how he should have a site and next thing ya know chrisjericho.com is born. We had no idea at the time what it would turn in to and we still don't know actually.

Q - Is that your main job, meaning do you get paid enough to do that full-time, or is that just a part-time setup?

A - The site for me is just alot of fun. Although Chris's favourite quote "thats why I pay you the big bucks." But do not believe everything you read on the internet

Q - Obviously you must know Chris in person, how did you meet him and is he as hilarious in person as he is on the mic?

A - I met Chris about 14 years ago at a outdoor hockey rink in Winnipeg, We were both under age then and those were the types of places people use to go hang out. We were both into Metallica and back then No one liked Metallica We have been friends since. Chris is probably more funny in person then his character is. He is basically one of the boys.

Q - What are your goals as a webmaster for a star? What I mean is do you decide the content and how do you?

A - As far as goals go we just want the site to be fun for the fans to enjoy or hate. Both Chris and I decide what goes on the site. Just put on whatever we think is cool. Chris has a big impact on content on the site. We get alot of great stuff from the fans so the the fans should get alot of the credit.

Q - And we can't not ask this question, do you have any inside dirt to leak to us? Only kidding...wait...no we're not.

A - Not alot of people know that Chris was born Christina. It was not till she was 17 when she had the surgery that Chris Jericho was here on this earth. Only Kidding....wait..no I'm not

Q - Do you have any funny stories to tell about running Chris's site or about Chris in general?

A - Nothing stands out in particular just alot of funny emails. Chris in general is funny, I mean look at him ! Have you ever seen a funnier lookin guy ?

Q - In closing, is there any thing you'd like to say to the visitors of your/Chris's site?

A - Thanks for visiting and the site would not be what it is today without them!
