--GYEAH.com STAFF OPINIONS:

-We showed the list that you just read to a few of our staff members and asked, those of differing tastes, which ones they were looking forward to the most. These aren't what they see as the Top 5 "Best" CDs, just the Top 5 in their own minds. Enjoy....

Top 5 Fall/Winter Albums

in the opinion of: The Goc

1.

Fat Joe

J.O.S.E - I've been a Fat Joe mark since the days of the original J.O.E. album and I can't wait for a return to the good ol' Joey Crack days. And you know Joey is going to have a lot to say with the passing of his best friend and fellow Terror Squad member, Big Pun.
2. Timbaland & Magoo Indecent Proposal - Vigilante has already gotten his hands on this one, and what I've heard from him and others is off the freaken chain. We might not get a Dre CD this Fall, but this will be almost as flava-filled.
3. Warren G Return of the Regulator - This foolio doesn't know how to make a bad album and the West Coast sound is as hot as it's been in years. It's about time the G child dropped something us on.
4. Erick Sermon Music - I don't know if this one is still going to get released this fall because of Sermon's hospitalization, but anything Def Squad related is guaranteed to be good ish whenever it does come out.
5. Ludacris Word of Mowf - I was late on the Luda bandwagon last time around, I didn't hop on until after Southern Hospitality hit. But after I heard that, Def Jam South's first artist had me hooked.

Top 5 Fall/Winter Albums

in the opinion of: Vigilante

1.

Timbaland & Magoo

This is probably cheating, but Vigilante already has this album. And by God, Blackground should be shot in the f'n head for keeping this thing on the shelf for so long.
2. Michael Jackson I'm a MJ mark, and I've been waiting for some new material from Jakko for quite some time. The first single has me wanting more.
3. Jewel My cd case is usually full of Rap and R&b, but only Jewel has consistently made Vigilante her bitch. From "Foolish Games" to "Hands". Jewel has yet to disappoint me yet, and I need this album like a fat man does a bra.
4. Dungeon Family Whoa, an album from the South's hottest/most consistent artists. Outkast, G.Mob, Slim Calhoun, and a bunch of guests (you know 8ball and Mjg will be around) this album has Vigilante foaming at the mouth.
5. No Doubt This one came between No Doubt and Ludacris, and unfortunately Ludacris's first single is just wack. So, No Doubt wins my default. Gwen has gained this group some serious acclaim..and just think. Not to long ago..she was the darkhorse of the group.

Top 5 Fall/Winter Albums

in the opinion of: Benzine

1.

Incubus

I really enjoyed their first album. With great songs like "Pardon Me", and Drive, I'm looking forward to what they come out with next. They basically came out of nowhere a couple of years ago and have pretty well established themselves in the alternative/rock music world today. Instead of going to a harder sounding rock where many other bands seem to be heading, they actually use some musical and lyrical talent to produce good music. I'll have to hook up with this CD on release….or just get it off the net, either way.
2. Creed I absolutely loved their first two CDs and this one probably won't be any different. They have set themselves up as a great group in the last couple years and I see them continuing that trend. The only reason they are not number one on my list is because after the release of their last album, I got a Creed OD from the constant radio and music video play. Sure it's not their fault but perhaps after I get the remnants of my Creed OD out of my system, I'll feel better about the band.
3. Korn Has anyone else noticed that these guys spelled corn wrong?….What?…it's suppose to be spelled like that?…Oh ok. Any way, how can you not like these guys? Their previous albums rocked and this will do the same guaranteed. My only question is, "Hey Korn you guys need an artist to design a cover for this album? All I got going is school and Gyeah.com and I can drop those in a second…errr….sorry guys."
4. Bush How can you not like a band with the name Bush? Seriously though, I've been listening to these fellas from the UK since freshmen year in high school. After I heard the song "Machinehead" I was hooked. Their last couple albums had a couple of good singles released from them, and the entire CDs were just as good.
5. Rob Zombie The ultimate Hellbilly himself, Rob Zombie is back to bring some more strange yet kick-ass music to the world. Sure, I don't know if it will be as good as his previous CDs, but he hasn't let us down yet so I don't expect that he will do so.

Well we think we've compiled a complete list of this season's upcoming CD releases and we've also given our staff's opinions on which ones you should pick up. Now the ball is in your court, hit up the GYEAH message boards and tell us your top 5, and why....

--Predicated Sales:

-For just simple fun, we polled the GYEAH.com staff members on which of these fall albums would sell the most copies. We certainly don't think these are the best CDs, but simply will be the most popular. Here's what our poll revealed as our predicted Top 10....

1.

Britney Spears

6X Platinum - Her first single, "Slave 4 U" might not be taking over the airwaves, but everyone is talking about the video. In a season of risky albums for big stars, Britney is by far the safest bet to rule the sales roost. And we'll probably give some horny marks a boner or two in the process.
2. Michael Jackson 5X Platinum - The album that will make or break what's left of Jacko's career. Vigilante and I tend to agree on it's selling power, but not enough to stop it from going 5 times platinum in our collective opinions.
3. DMX 3.5X Platinum - His last album went 5 times platinum, which proves without a doubt the selling power of Dark Man X. Expect this one to not quite live up his previous critically and economically.
4. No Doubt 3.5X Platinum - This is a sales figure that No Doubt has easily eclipsed in the past, and there's little doubt that this star producer-laden disc will be a major hit. We're probably shooting too low on this figure.
5.

Nelly

3X Platinum - I hate to admit it, but the bastard is very bankable when it comes to Soundscan. Even his garbage group the St. Lunatics had a #1 debut. Nelly's on his 14th minute of fame, but this one will still sell like hot cakes. We piss!
6. Korn 2.5X Platinum - Korn's been gone for what seems like an eternity in the music world, but they have one of the most dedicated fan bases in music. They'll go double platinum without trying.
7. Creed 2X Platinum - The religious rockers are back, but there's no way they'll be able to duplicate the success of their last album.
8. Lenny Kravitz 2X Platinum - Can he make a CD that won't go platinum? The day he doesn't is the day Shooks gets a job.
9. Kid Rock 1.5X Platinum - Kid Rock will never live up to the sales of his first major release, but we think he has at least one more platinum plaque in his life.
10. Timbaland & Magoo Platinum - It's not going to be a huge success, but it's going to be one of the best albums of 2001.

-Well, that's it for our 2001 Fall Music Preview, now that you know what's coming out and our opinions and predictions, why not voice some of your own:
