A few Watts short.

A Review by

Vigilante

The man who found fame by singing on a bus with a can of pop in his hand has come upon the release of his second album, "2000 watts". I didn't get a chance to here Tyrese's first album, but his singles were played over the airwaves 24/7. This time around, he has already gotten off to a hot start with "I like them girls". Let's see if the rest of the album lives up to the hype behind this artist.

I Like Them Girls Hell, so do I Tyrese. Its good to see him clear all that up on the first track. Anyway, this is a hot first single that will do very well as a summer track for the club and just to ride around. Rather catchy.

$2.00

I Ain't the One This is a futurisic ass beat...ah..no wonder...Darkchild. Anyway, on this track Tyrese tells a girl that he ain't the one to be buying a girl thing after thing, he ain't be played like that. I hear ya Tyrese.

$2.20

Just A Baby Boy (ft. Snoop Dogg and Mr. Tan) Second single here, not sure if this would be the next single if it wasn't also the lead track off the soundtrack of "Baby Boy". A movie Vigilante is really looking foward to (not the sarcasm). This song is pretty weak, especially considering that Snoop is on here as well. Oh well.

$.50

Make Up Your Mind Tyrese slows it down on this track, as Tyrese tells his girl that she needs to make up her mind. He says she can't have one foot out when you're in a relationship with him.

$1.50

There For Me  – Here Tyrese tells his girl that though he may not be right all the time, no matter what his girl is always there for him. Nice track, or maybe I can relate to it well.

$2.00

"You're the only thing that makes any sense to me. Shorty you're always down for me. Baby, baby. Wanna thank you girl for loving me. Right or wrong your love is always there for me." - Tyrese

Lord You Control Me (Interlude)  – Ol Tyrese takes it to church on this interlude. Here he says how he used to try and predict his future, but now he realizes that through the hardships in his life..he knows the Lord Controls him.

$1.10

I'm Sorry Tyrese tells his ol girl that he's sorry he broke her heart, and for breaking her cry. Now she's all alone...and so is he.

$1.75

What Am I Gonna Do - On this song, Tyrese says he was excited cause he was falling in love with a girl. But now that he's fallen, and has her now...what is he going to do. This song doesn't have the same effect the previous ballads did, but its not bad either.

$.50

Fling – This beat is a little to old school for me, so this track is already on a downhill turn. On this track says he wants to make 'this' more than a fling. Boring track here.

$.20

Off the Heezy (ft. Jermaine Dupri) Another boring track, and you would assume it would be otherwise with SoSo Def producer on the track. I guess that's what one gets for assuming. Anyway, this track is far from off the heezy.

$.20

Get Up On It (ft. Sole) - Ginuwine let Tyrese borrow his girls rapping talents on this track where Tyrese tells the ladies how he's really got a thing for you, and he has to get up on it. The beat is done from the cats representing "Red Zone", so its pretty hot.

$1.50

House Keepin –
This beat is kinda hot with the sound of a leaky faucet in the background..but this track is just wack.  On this track, Tyrese tries to  do some R. Kelly type stuff and give sex another term such as "house keepin". Blah

$.05

I Wrote A Song About It (Interlude) –
This interlude tells a girl that when he's stressed, he writes a song about it. Then he starts siging it. It's beautiful. Why these two interludes couldn't be full fledged tracks...I'll never know

$1.00

For Always – Tyrese asks his girl to love him for always, and that he wants her in his life for always. A nice little ballad here.

$2.00

Bring You Back My Way – The Final Track closes the album off with a ballad, a nice one at that. Here Tyrese asks what he has to do to bring his girl back his way.

$1.50

This is a decent sophmore effort, but nothing that just stands out. There are a couple of tracks that just don't fit on this album, and then there are songs that should have had a little more work on them. Tyrese fans will enjoy, but people who are giving this album a chance because they are an r&b fan should travel with caution. This album has some hits, and some misses.

Album worth: $18.00

Album price: $14.99

-Now that you've read something, he's written. Wouldn't you like to find out more about Vigilante? Here you go.
