| Im sure that while you were surfing along the GW site, that
this review wasnt the one that jumped out at you and grabbed your attention.
Thats really to bad, because this is one of the best albums put out this year, and
any fan of hip-hop will definitely not be dissapointed by copping this album. Youve
probably never heard of Mad Skillz, Danja Mowf, or Lonnie B if you live up North or out
west
but theres no better time than now to find out who 3 of Americas hypest
MCs are. INTRO (Lonnie B.)
This song is just as it says, and intro. It has a
nice beat behind it backed by some vocals by Lonnie B. that cant help but get a
person hype for whats about to bless their ear.
$.75
CONSEQUENCES & REPPERCUSSIONS (SupaFriendz) Danja Mowf comes out the blocks on this track which
basically lays it down to people who didnt already know how the Supafriendz throw it
down. Skillz and Lonnie B. come in to finish off the track, and show that these three men
complement each other very well. Mowf is laid back, Lonnie B is like a young Jova, and
Skillz is like a battle rappin vet behind the mic.
"I suggest you get a condom, walk in a circle, and dont fuck
around"-Skillz
$1.25
FATAL ATTRACTION (Lonnie B.)
Man, this track was made specifically for Stalker. (LOL) Lonnie and Joe Doja lay it down
about a girl who they cant get out of their life. Im REALLY feelin this
track
any male can relate to this.
$3.50
FRIEND ZONE (Lil' Roc)
Yet another track that hits real close to home. This one samples Biz Markies
"Just Friends" song and talks about a girl who gives a man all the signals..but
just wants to be friends. Ouch! Lil Rocs rappin tallents dont match
Skillz or Mowfs, but the song is real and addictive enough to make it extremely
enjoyable.
$3.00
MONEY (Danja Mowf)
Dont be confused by the title, Mowf aint one of those down south rappers that
rap over and over about how much money they have, and how broke you are. On this cut, Mowf
talks about how hell do what he has to do get what makes the world go round.
Im not really feeling the guest artist on this track, but hes not bad enough
to bring this entire track down.
"Man, bump yall. Shit, Im makin hits this year, callin Backstreet Boys
and Brittney Spears" "I get some gold teeth, man I fit right in/with the Cash
Money Clique..Ill make a hit right then."- Mowf
$2.00
FAITHFULLY (Shawnee Poo) Im
not really feelin this track that much. Something about the voice of Shawnee bothers
me. He gives a nice rap talking about how he is, does, and acts faithfully to what he
always did. Just not into this one.
$.25
HOT HOT (Mad Skillz) HOT SHIT!!! A nice
snare/horn bumpin in the background while Skillz rips over it matching the beat. Then it
gets even better as Mowf and Lonnie B. come in, and add their track matching the beat
also. This is definitely as the title emplies.
"Battle me, I run through you like some bad greens" Skillz
"When ya heard we was back, you said aw naw
.face got tighter than some small
draws." Lonnie B.
$4.00
BABY (Duane Fowlkes)- Like any compilation
album, youve got to change it up every now and then. And heres the first
R&B track on the album. The title of the song is repeated throughout the song as Duane
tells his Baby what he can do. Its a nice song, a good change of pace
but its
far from a standout R&B song. Probably wouldve been best had this not even been
on here. Just my opinion.
$1.00
LET ME FIND OUT (SupaFriendz) This
song is the SupaFriendz battle anthem to all people who like to talk ish. I really find it
hard to find anyone in the world on a lyrical level with the men in this camp
.and as
far as entire cliques go. NO ONE even comes close in Hip-hop. Definitely top notch
hip-hop here.
$3.00
SPIT MY FLOW (Danja Mowf) Mowf
just
well
spits his flow. Fast, hard, and furiously. People who have heard of
Mowf before will say that this is a tad downhill from Mowfs usually metaphorical
rhymes
but I dont care. This song is still off the chain.
$3.00
EVERYDAY HUSTLE (Lonnie B.)- Man, if
Lonnie B. doesnt remind me of Jay Z. I dont know who does (I rephrase that,
cause John Forte sounds a lot like Jigga also). Lonnie lays a little knowledge down on a
job at Mickey D's. Its a very good track, just a tad on the short side.
$2.50
MATADOR (Danja Mowf) Im not sure if
I mentioned this yet, but Mowf and Skillz handle most of the production on this album
also. This track has a simple, repetetive beat that just has your head bobbing from the
start. Mowf certainly blesses the track
and finally its all him.
"I been nice all my life, on the mic you just an amatuer. Bring that bullshit, I
get surrounded like a matador" Mowf
$3.00
ITS YOURS (SupaFriendz) This track is nice,
brings back memories of old school for some reason. The chorus is a sample of LL cool J's
"Illegal Search". Anyway, this track is tight. Not as good as most of the
SupaFriendz collabos on this track, but a very very nice song just the same.
$2.00
CADI MAN-Club Mix (Jo Doja) OH
SHIT!!! This song is an addictive drug. You listen to it once, and youll never
forget it. Catchy hook, sweet beat, and Jo lays it down perfectly for this hot party song.
$5.50
HARD ON ME (Danja Mowf) This beat
is
some wild ass ish. Its on a futuristic level, and Mowf uses it perfectly. Why havent
these guys gotten the recognition they deserve?!?! Damn Missy and Timbo for letting two of
these boys slip through their hands. Anyway, this song is about what happens to every guy
when hes dancin close with a girl
think about it guys.
$4.00
THRO DEM BOWS (Jo Doja) Jo D owns the
fn club. Man, his two cuts will get anyone off their ass and just bouncin. This
track is wild!! If you dont get hype off this track, you dont have a pulse.
Supafriendz do it again!!
$5.50
WE GOT THE BABY (Skit) Lol, funny ass skit!
Im a fan of HUGE fan of Timbaland, and I find this skit extrememly hilarious. A
phone call is made to Timbaland with a fake madman on the phone saying hes holding
his baby (from Aaliyahs "Are you that Somebody") ransom. What makes this
funny is that they have Timbo talking back in total ad lib
must be heard to gain full
humor. Anyway, this leads into the next track
$1.00
SUPA (SupaFriendz) The baby is back,
this time the boys from Supafriendz let the track have it again. (Some of you may have
heard the remix to Aaliyahs "Are you that Somebody") This track is still
hot, and these boys use it to its full abilities.
"You aint speakin hot shit..you got halitosis" Skillz
$5.50
EVERYTHING I NEED (Shawn Chappelle) R&B to finish off that wild ride that the boys from VA.
This song is yet another solid r&b track, but nothing off the chain. Another problem
with this song is placement on the cd. After 4 to 5 banging tracks, this one sort of takes
us down off the high.
$1.00
Most compliations have a tendency of having a few tight tracks spread thinly throughout
the entire album, and you have different styles never quite meshing together. But that
certainly isn't the case here. This album flows together near flawlessly (other than a few
decent r&b track that seem misplaced), and the main three members of the supafriendz
(Mowf, Skillz, Lonnie B) complement each other perfectly.
This album is worth $51.75 cents in my eyes, and you can
get this bad boy for only $15.99. Its worth that and then some if you ask me. If you like
real hip hop, where the rappers dont have to discuss their monitary value like Cash
Money or No Limit, or where the rappers dont sing their entire song in the same
annoying ass voice like Nelly. Then the 804 Compliation is the album for you. This is true
hip hop, and I cant wait for the day that the SupaFriendz make it big.
