Tank

Very Forceful Nature!

A Review by

Vigilante

Another newcomer to the R&B table, Tank is the newest family member to the Blackground music label (Timbaland, Aaliyah). Tank has  two of the hottest singles rotating on urban radio stations nowadays ("Maybe I deserve" and "Freaky"). The man knows how to make hits, can he make an entire album resemble those two tracks? Or is the name Tank something that you'll know today, and forget tomorrow? Let's take a look.

Get Your Hands Up – A nice way to start off a cd. A get hype track telling people to get their hands up with a nice rock type beat bangin in the background that keeps you head noddin from the opening second.

$1.25

Freaky – GOD DAMN!!! This is some hot ish. I have no clue who's doing these beats, but Blackground definately has another producer up their sleeve besides Timbaland. This song will get ANYONE with a pulse movin'. Freaks unite!!!

"They wanna get real freaky wit me, wanna be real nasty wit me. They want to go some place where they can ride on...slide on." -Tank

$4.00

Maybe I Deserve It
Tank slows it down a lot on this one. Here he talks to a lady about how he deserves for her to do the same bad things with her male friends that he did his female friends. MAN...can we say relate? Deep ass song!!

"Maybe I deserve, for you to go out and found some other guy. Maybe I deserve, for you to stay out with him all night. Maybe I Deserve, for you to do all the things I did to you" - Tank

$5.00

I Can't Get Down Tank talks about how a girl makes excuses upon excuses about where and what she's doing, and he knows the whole time that she's cheating. This song talks about he can't get down with that ish no more.

$3.00

Designated Driver Hehe, man how many peeps can relate to this song. When you get so drunk, it don't matter what the girl looks like or acts like..you just wants some skins. Sweet as guitar solo at the end.

"This drink drink drink, is making me think think think. That I'm wantin to wantin to be with you. Do you wanna go go go, cause a nigga wanna roll roll roll. And get it crackin with this mackin cause I'm ready for some action" - Tank

$2.50

Say What, What, What – This is a track where Tank talks to some girls, and ask what what what's up. This is another head knocker, but a little less smarter than the previous tracks

$1.50

Little Lady on My Block – On this track, Tank sings about how the little lady on her block went from being the most popular girl to nothing at all due to drugs, kids, and just hard times. Another deep story.

$4.00

Slowly Man, Tank has some mad vocals too. On this track he slows it down, and sings to some lady how he's going to do things in the bedroom. Did I mention he's got some mad vocals? If this song wasn't about sex, it would be almost church like. But, hey, if its good I'm sure you can do a sermon on it too.

$3.00

Kill 4 You – On this track, Tank tells a girl that he's everything a girl needs and that he would do anything for her...even kill her current bad boyfriend. Then she turns on him when he actually goes through with the murder. Interesting ass story.

"Girl I would Kill for you, steal for you, girl I would do time for any crime to prove my love is true." -Tank

"What did you tell the police? You gave em my name, you better explain. Cause now they're out their looking for me. I did this for you, I thought you wanted me to. I won't go down alone. But I don't have proof you were in this too. Now there's only one thing to, you're the only witness. So I have to kill you." - Tank

$5.00

We Got That A jazz/D'angelo type feel comes across on this track. On this track, Tank names off things and answers it with a "We Got That". One of the weaker tracks on the album, but its not bad.

$1.25

Let It Go – On this track, Tank mellows out while he tries to have his girl let everything that bothers her go. This a very laid back song.

$2.00

Shake It – A r&b slow dance track where he asks the girls to well...Shake it. Probably would have been a lot better had the songs before it not been so much off the meter.

$1.00

Bounce and Grind Whooo, once again Tank lets us have it again. Another freak track, where Tank rips the vocals in a double time with the repetitive infectious beat blares in the background. Talkin to the ladies how dancin really is done..

$3.00

Treat Yourself – On this track, Tank tells a girl not to hesitate on approaching him. He says don't you cheat yourself, treat yourself. Nice ballad with a hard beat in the background.

$2.50

Man, after hearing this album, I wait with anticipation at what else can come out of the Blackgroung camp this year with the release of Timbaland and Magoo and Aaliyah's long awaited album. Tank has it all, vocals, the ability to produce, and a great way to deliver a story. This is an album not only for R&b fans, but for fans of music period. There is something on here for everyone, and I think its safe to say that Tank is one name we will be hearing a lot more of in the future.

Album worth: $39.00

Album price: $12.88
