| Nas and Ill Will
Records bring you QB's Finest. Apparently it's intended to be a collection of the best
Queen's Bridge has to offer. See what we thought: Intro Pretty pointless
intro. If you're going to put an intro on a CD, it should get you hyped, not make you want
to fast forward on the first listen. On this intro, every city imaginable is shouted
out...for some reason which escapes me.

DA BRIDGE 2000 (feat. Too Many to Name)
Alright, this beat is hard as a rock, and I'm liking it. But the rest of the song just
comes off as mismatched well-rehearsed freestyles or something. Nas kicks a great verse,
but other than that, its pretty forgettable.

WE LIVE THIS (feat. Big Noyd, Havoc, & Shante)
This was what I was looking for in this compilation, some Mobb Deep. This doesn't
disappoint, despite a rather slow predictable hook its still worth a listen or ten. If
only Shante was on it, and her terriably annoying voice.
$1.00
REAL NIGGAS (feat. Nas & Ruc) Doesn't get you
hyped by any means. But a pretty smooth track. Nas carries yet another track, but trust me
I'm not complaining....that much.
"Bitches asses was bigger
than sniffing noses candy white."
$1.00
FIND YA WEALTH (feat. Nas)
Sorta like Nas's verison of Outkast's "Get Up, Get out". An attempt at a
positive track, that isn't all bad. Actually on first listen of the CD, it was one of my
fav tracks. But it's just a little too corny for me to listen to regularly.
$0.50
STRAIGHT OUTTA Q.B. (feat. Jungle, Cormega)
As expected uses the beat
from NWA's Straight Outta Compton. Interesting idea, but come on...nothing can compare to
the original. A decent idea, that almost works.
"I'm the foulest of the foul, the wildest of the wild, shitting on you n*ggas King
Kong style."
$0.50
OOCHIE WALLY (feat. Bravehearts) This
hook practically embrasses me to play at high volumes. Luckily its winter, so I don't have
the windows down when I'm playing this track. I can see some people liking this track. If
you like catchy, R&B style hooks, this is right up your alley. It just isn't my
style...sorry. Just look at that quote, and you'll see why I'm not digging this song.
C'mon, who can say that with a straight face?:
"He really, really fucked my coochie."
$0.25
OUR WAY (feat. CNN)
- "Drive Drunk to this", is how this
song kicks off. Now if that isn't hilarious, I don't know what is. But after that this
song has a decent beat, with some decent rhymes. I don't hate Noreaga as much as most, but
I can see why they might. Check out this quote:
"I get head, and I don't even
iron my pants."
$1.00
FIRE (feat.
Nature) I haven't heard much
from Nature, so I'm pretty new to his raping. I wouldn't look forward to a whole album
from him, but he drops some decent lines but its over an unimaginative track: Cookiecutter
Hip Hop.
"I give meaning to the phrase, Smoking Groove."
$0.50
POWER RAP (feat. Prodigy) Apparently this is a freestyle from Prodigy (of Mobb Deep), and
all that can be said about it is...why? Why are their constantly freestyles on otherwise
polished albums? It just blows my mind. And aren't freestyles, supposed to be free? Hehe.
"We unholy, cause they ain't a part
missing."
$FREE
STREET GLORY (feat. Nas & Pop) - What can I say? I just didn't
like the track. I'm sorry? I just get tired of the same old slow Nas song, talking about
the same old thing. I take a piss on this track.
$0.25
WE BREAK BREAD (feat. Lord Black, Others) Not a great song, but a
great break in the CD. After 10 very similar tracks, QB's finest get a little upbeat for a
change. Nothing new or groundbreaking here, but there's nothing horribly bad.
"You ain't worth the coins in the change meters."
$1.00
MONEY (feat. Mr. Challish) I have no idea who this
guy is, I won't lie. But this song is hot. Sure its typical subject matter, but for an
unknown its definitely got me interested. My favorite track on the CD, hands down.
"I went from a Prince to a King, now kiss the throne."
$2.00
SELF-CONSCIENCE - (feat. Prodigy & Nas) A deep brooding track,
typical Mobb Deep featuring Nas. I know there are many Mobb devotees out there, and I know
they would be wearing out their CD on this song. But it just doesn't do anything for me.
If they used some emphasis in their flow or something, hell I don't know.
$0.50
DIE 4 (feat. Infamous Mobb)
The typical posse cut, where
each member pledges his allegiances to the other members and puts in his own two cents.
Nothing you haven't heard a million times before. Ends with some words from Ron Artest,
another Queen's Bridge alumni.
"I rep
for my clique, I never burn my bridges."
$0.25
KIDS IN THE PJs (feat. Nas, Bravehearts, & Mille) Just
like the title says, Nas and others give love to the children in the projects. A rather
uplifting track, but I just can't get into it. Maybe its because I can't relate...You
could feel totally different. I think its Love or Hate with this one.
$0.50
TEENAGE THUG (ft. Nas and Millenium Thug) Some of you may remember
Millenium Thug from Nas' last solo CD, but most just remeber the name. Yet again that's
all they'll probably remember this time, as there's nothing impressive here.
"Just chasing his dick, a teenage thug."
$0.50
If this is QB's finest, I'd hate to
hear QB's Shittiest. I've already spent a couple of hours of my life reviewing this CD,
and its probably the last time it will ever run through my speaker wires. The total worth
is a lot less than it should be. This album is just boring, there's no other way around
it.
