| Its been quite
some time since Foxy Brown's last, and dissapointing, cd "Chyna Doll". The album
wasn't horrible, but coming off the classic "Il Na Na" album...her hype and
expectations were so high that she failed to comply with the medias wants. After that
album, Foxy's career went into the shadows and became supressed in silence. She went
through many things throughout those years, but now she returns with her newest
effort..."Broken Silence". Intro The beginning of this
track has new clips of various things that have occured over the last few years to Ms.
Foxy Brown. Then, Foxy comes in on the last minute, and spits about how she is finally
going to answer all the questions her fans have had over the last few years.

Fallin' (ft. Young Gavin_ This is one of the
best Foxy tracks I've ever heard in my life. Foxy just spits about any and everything on
her chest, while the chorus simply states that you shouldn't hate her cause she's ballin.
Nice way to open an album.

"If I was to die, be too many cowards alive. Fox Brown, Bonnie...minus the
Clyde." - Foxy Brown
"Its only one other broad that really got
skillz. She's aiight, but she's not real." - Foxy Brown
Oh Yeah (Spragga Benz) Foxy's second single off the album, as she takes it to the Reggae
side of music. This is a hot track, that would get major airplay in the clubs. It
also displays that Fox still has what it takes to hold a mic.
$2.25
"Niggas say I'm too pretty to spit rhymes this gritty. Fuck ya'll thought, I'd be
dancin round in suits like I'm ...pretty." - Foxy B.
"Listen, never trippin. Never
catch brown slippin. Yeah I don't be nice around mic's like pippen." - Foxy brown
B.K Anthem The first single from the New York
raised rapper, as she gives those guys and gals in NY an new anthem to bang in their cars.
She drops some nice vocals on here to as she asks...Brooklyn Beef...who want that?
$3.00
The Letter (ft. Ronald Isley) Here, Foxy spits
from her heart as she sends "letters" to her mom, brothers, and baby. Since she
goes on some reflection type ish that Pac did from time to time, she recites a few lines
from a 2pac track "Against All Odds".
$3.50
730 This beat is
wild, I mean some serious next level ish. Anyway, Foxy lays down some nice lyrics. But
nothing really sweet enough to capitalize on the awesome beat. There is some nice lyrical
attacking on Kurupt's new girl, ex Blaque lead. Pretty nice.
$2.00
Candy (ft. Kelis) Wtf is this song?! A nice beat, but dumb song that just does not need to
be anwyhere near this album. On here, Foxy gets freaky on this corny ass track.
$.25
"I take just like candy, so dance with me." - Kelis
Tables Will Turn (ft. Baby Cham) - Another track on
this album that grabs a hold of that reggae feel. I was really diggin this track until the
reggae artist came in, and just killed anything Foxy had established.
$1.00
Hood Scriptures Here,
Foxy cleans our minds of those horrid dance tracks before with some real lyrical delivery.
$2.50
Run Dem (ft. Baby Sham) On this track, Foxy raps going in and out of her regular style and a
reggae style. Its pretty hot, and once again shows that Foxy has some originality in her
style.
$2.75
Bout My Paper (ft. Mystikal) Wasn't really expecting Mystikal to be on this album...wow? Anyway,
Mystikal handles the hook while Foxy and he both lay down the verses. These two make a
pretty damn good combo.
$3.50
"If it ain't bout my paper..then bitch don't call me. Cause I'm about my motha fuckin
business, kill that talkin. If you ain't got no motha fuckin confrontation, then keep on
walkin. Cause I'm about to show you what you paid for when you came here, put yo hands up.
Lets get this motha fucka shorty." -Mystikal
Run Yo Shit (ft. CNN) - A hot beat that favors CNN
more than Fox. Which, since this is her album..not a good thing. Also, the sound of
Capone's voice is just horrible. This "Super Mario" esque beat just doesn't fit
in with Fox's style. Someone should've run this track.
$.10
Na Na Be Like Another track where Foxy
falls in and out of reggae. It was hot the first time, and though it stil is here, isn't
as original. On this track, Foxy talks about what she be like.
$1.20
Gangsta Boogie Another club track here (Neptunes production),
where Foxy gets herself a new self titled Boogie. Track is pretty weak, and
un-original.
$.50
I Don't Care (ft. Kori) - Does
Eminem have a little sister? I swear to God this Kori chick is the female version of
Eminem. She doesn't give a fuck, she's white, and she's very angry. Sounds like Em to me.
Anyway, this track has a rock type hook that simply states the title..."I don't
care". Song is a little too short, and I wish I could've heard more from this Kori.
$3.50
"So what if this is not for
kids. So what if there's 100 labels they got the bid. So what if I dreamed the devil
dared me to sin. So what if the industry compares me to him. So what if I write hard. Or
is it really just a big fuckin deal cause its coming from a white broad." -
Kori
So Hot (ft. Young Gavin) - It takes a
lot of balls to put a song that has been on several albums and internet sites awhile ago.
But since this track is soooo f'n hot, I can't blame Fox here.
$3.50
"Who the fuck is ya'll aimin for? If its Fox, what the fuck you ain't name me
for?" - Foxy Brown
Saddest Day (ft. Wayne Wonder) - On this
track, Foxy uses a sample of what I believe to be an old 80's song. Anyway, on this
track...Fox spits about how she felt when her man cheated on her.
$3.00
Broken Silence (ft. Darius)
- Title track at the end? A little backwards, but ok.
This sample is a little to recent for Foxy to be using it again. Anyway, this track takes
the same r&b sample from the 2pac & RL track "Until The End Of Time".
Here, Fox spits about all the ish she's gone through over the last few years, and that she

Foxy's new album, though not perfect, certainly
re-solidifies her place in the world of today's top hip hop female artists. This album is
to Foxy what "Me Against The World" was to 2Pac. I'm not saying its as good as
thay album was to him, but it is a reflection album of this ish they had gone through over
the years. If Foxy had only made an entire cd like that, and lost some of the
garabge pieces like "Candy" & "Run Yo Shit"...this album could've
been near perfect. Instead, Foxy creates a very solid effort that will keep her from going
back to the shadows for quite some time.
