-REVIEW INTRO-

The OTHER newcomer that has taken the summer by storm (first being Bubba Sparxxx) releases his album. And like Bubba, Petey owes some of his rise to fame to the superproducer Timbaland. The hot track "Raise Up" put Petey on the map. Let's see if this album keeps him there.

-TRACK RUN-DOWN-

1. Intro  Intro that acts as a prologue to the rest of the cd. Nothing special.

Track Rating: $.20

2. Petey Pablo Petey's name track, that will have anyone who listens to it automatically screaming his name out. This beat is fast and ill, and Petey uses it tremendously. He says its his year, and soon everyone will be saying his name. I agree.

$2.00

3. Raise Up Timbaland and Petey create a song that Vigilante was on long before it became popular. Now, that everyone has gotten wind of what the hell I was talking about...this shit is hot. Its a party song that just gets anybody hype. Tim manages to do it again.

$4.75

4. I (ft. Timbaland) Second single off the album, and another Timbaland produced track. Petey and Tim rap about how they (I) got everyting from the girls, music, ..they got it all.

$3.75

"I got a fool for a partner and her name is Missy. I got a tool in the dark that I keep a clip in." -Timbaland

"Its the Its really a titty bar, but I ain't got no liscense for it." - Petey Pablo

5. I Told Ya'll Timbaland's last produced track on the album, and he uses the drums and bass on this track wonderfully. On this track, Petey says he told ya'll that he was going to be poppin off soon, and ya'll didn't believe him. Now you in the club poppin your ass off cause of him.

$2.50

6. Didn't I – This was the first song I heard from Petey, it was on some soundtrack awhile back. Anyway, Petey spits tells a story and after each line he finishes it with Didn't I. This song IS Petey Pablo. Its great ish.

$4.50

7. La Di Da Da Da This is a party track, that has a nice beat, but this chorus is a little to happy and overly comedic for me. Its the truth, going to the waffle spot after leaving the club. Just not feeling this song that much. Petey's voice during this track kind of leaves a lot to be desired.

$0.70

8. Funroom - This song is just fuckin fun and hilarious. Its something that can get you hype no matter where you going. I love this track.

$4.00

"Me and my partner dawg. Timbaland aught to be the wizard of oz. Greatest beat maker since the greek gods. Best thing to happen since they made cars." - Petey Pablo

"Anything is allowed to go down, when we in the fun fun room."

9. Ya'll Ain't Ready – Petey talks about the haters that have been worrying too much about what Petey doing. All he has to say to them, is that ya'll ain't ready for him.

$1.50

10. Do Dat – This song should be heard by every rapper in the music industry. On this track Petey shows how ignorant all these rappers that rap about guns and drugs really are. This is one of my fav songs on the cd.

$4.75

"Running round talkin bout the shit you be talkin bout. How you got the drug game sewed up and locked down. John Gotti got life, and I'm sure he never told nobody. More less put it on an album, so the fuckin feds could buy it." - Petey Pablo

"You, gon have to change up all yo shit in a little bit. When the radios and the club start to bumpin this, and  they start to find out what rappin really is." - Petey Pablo

11. Live Debanco - This song sounds like Petey is rappin at a concert, its a nice style. But, I'm not really feelin Petey's style of rappin on this particular track.

$.50

12. 919 – Basically a song that is used for Petey to get hype. It doesn't show anything really worthwile.

$.75

13. Fool For Love - Petey talks about a girl who he ended up falling in love with, and then she got caught with another man and now he's a fool in love. I feel ya Petey..I feel ya.

$2.50

14. Test of My Faith - A really deep song, where Petey lets down some heartfelt lyrics about some situations that have caused him to question his faith.

$2.20

15. Truth About Me - Petey tells the truth about his life, and the trials and tribulations he had to go through to get to where he is now. So, he wants to tell the world the truth about him.

$3.00

16. Diary of a Sinner - This track just is nice. Petey raps on it as if he was writing in a diary, and the hook is just to perfect.

$3.75

17. My Testimony - A spoken testimony from Petey. Similar to DMX, but not as hypocritical as he, cause Petey didn't kill anyone or sell any drugs during this album.

$.20

18. Raise Up (All City Mix) - Same as before, except the city North Carlolina is replaced by all the popular cities in the country. Can't give this rating as high as that one, cause its not really a new song/

$2.00

The Best Tracks: The Last Word(s):

It's refreshing to have another rap album, where the artist doesn't have to talk about who he shot, who he hates, and how many hoes he has throughout the album. Petey Pablo has put out one hell of a debut album, and it definately and artist that people should keep their eye out on. Especially if he keeps his ties with Timbaland.

Album Worth:

$43.55

Album price: $14.99
