Dr. Dolittle 2 Soundtrack

A Review by

Vigilante

Like all movies nowadays, they have to be accompanied by a soundtrack. This soundtrack coincides with the sequel to Eddie Murphy's Dr. Dolittle hit. The first soundtrack was great, giving us hits like "Are You That Somebody", "Same Ol G", and several more from Timbaland. Can the sequel's soundtrack compare?

Cluck, Cluck (ft. The Project GB ft. Wyclef)  – The opening track stars production from the man you're either going to love or hate..wyclef. Here, he brings the Project GB a nice little beat that they sing over about chickens (worthless females for those not in the know) who do nothing bu cluck cluck. Its catchy, but no real point to it.

$1.20

Do U Wanna Roll (ft. RL, Snoop Dogg, & Lil Kim)This track is too hot for its own good. This song is laid back, great hook, and features artists from all coasts. This song shows that Snoop still has what it takes to be one of the better mc's in the game. Did I mention how much I love this track?!

$3.25

"Do U wanna roll in my six fo, and have some fun baby lets have some fun. Oh will get low, and thats  for sho. We'll hop on dubs baby, and have some fun." - Snoop Dogg & Rl

Tameeka (ft. Mario w/ Fabolous)  – Never heard of this Mario, but he has a voice that can make it pretty far in this new school type of r&b. On this track, he sings about how hot this chick named Tameeka is..and how she ain't the one to be playin with. Then Fabolous comes in and drops another guest appereance....when does this guys album drop...if ever?

$1.10

Absolutely Not (ft. Deborah Cox) This song is so fast, that to be able to tell that it was Deborah Cox would be a miracle. Her voice is wasted here on this track, and its not really a song more than it is than a beat with a tight artist.

$.50

We Fit Together
(O-Town)The group ABC created gets a track on here. I really have no opinion of these guys. There second single is off the hook, but I wouldn't buy anything from them. This song however is pretty weak, and is rather short.  On this track the group sings about how well they and a girl fit together.

$.00

Two Steps (Jimmy Cozier) –  On this dance track, Jimmy talks about whenever he takes on step foward...his girl takes two step back. Nice track, but no real substance

$.50

What It Is pt. 2 (ft. Flipmode Squad) –  This track is part 2 to the Bustah Rhymes track on the Violator album. That song is hot, and the Neptunes did that beat. On this track, the beat is slightly different..and it loses some of its killer effect.  However, the track is still pretty hot. Also, the hook changes from "Bustah What it is right now" to "Flipmode, what it is right now"Flipmode represent again....to bad they can't do it for an entire album.

$1.80

Rear View Mirror (Alicia Keys) - This young lady Alicia Keys has a very bright future ahead of her, with one of the best songs I've heard in awhile in "Fallin"..mrs. Keys brings it home a second time. I think I have found my new artist of the year here.

$1.80

If I Was The One (Luther Vandross) - Luther tears the roof down on this track, as he tells a lady that If he was the one that she was running to everything would be great.
$3.00

Makin Me Feel (Angie Stone) –  Never been a big fan of Angie Stone, or her style. I guess this song is pretty cool. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. Its decent.

$1.00

Life Is Good (LFO w/MOP) - Do all there songs really have to sound the same? I mean I know they are one of the least talented male groups up there, but there has to be a way to change your style someway. Anyway, this track does not belong on here...PERIOD!!!

$.00

Lookin For Love (Next w/ Lil Zane)  – Man, when I saw this track on the album I was looking foward to it. Unfortunately, its rather weak and slow....and causes Zane's talent to be slowed down and wasted on this mediocre track. Oh well, at least 2 pac..er..Zane's album was still hot ish.

$.30

If I know (Medeiros) Another new cat introduced to the world here, in a very nice little ballad. Here, Medeiros says that if he knew what he knew before he and his woman broke up..they would still be together. But its too late for that.

$1.00

This soundtrack is pale in comparison to the original Dr. Dolittle Soundtrack (Timbaland did 5 to 6 tracks on it), but it still is a solid soundtrack with a nice mix of songs from completely different artists.

Album worth: $15.45

Album price: $14.99
