Dream

Puff's Wierd Dream

A Review by

Vigilante

Why I'm punishing myself to such torture is beyond me, but I've decided to take a bullet for the betterment of GYEAH.COM and review Dream's "It was all a dream". Is Puff's next group worth more than one single?

It Was All A Dream(Intro) – Um...alot of computer generated voices on here. Naming off the girls of the group. Nothing special.

$.05

He Loves U Now – First single, sadly this thing is very addictive. On this track, the girls talk about how a girl can try to get their man all they want, but his heart belongs to him. VERY pop-esque..I mean they do Nsync's "Bye Bye Bye" moves in their video. I guess Puff has told Dream its ok to plagarize.

"No chains to unlock, so free to do what he wants. He's into what he's got. He loves me, he loves u not."

$1.25

In My Dreams Damn it, I was hoping to get through this album WITHOUT hearing Puffy. Oh well. This beat is kinda wet. On this track, these girls talk about how the perfect male/relationship happens in their dreams. I wish the hook and the beat matched in their iconess.

$.75

This Is Me On this track, the girls talking about how they aren't like some boys last ex. Catchy, but more typical up beat pop.

"That was her, this is me. We're different as can be, she and I are nothing a like. You're confusing day with night."

$1.00

I Don't Like Anyone Um..no. This track blows. Hard. Like if Ricky Martin and Nelly got together to create a track. This is like the Spice Girls came to do a reunion track. On here, the girls talk about how they don't like anyone as much as they do you (boy).

$.00

Reality (Interlude) Three of the girls talk to one girl about how big of a dumb ass she is for believing her boyfriend's lies.

$.00

Pain Well, this proves the point that no matter what Puff does...he has to sample. May he burn in an eternal un-original hell. Anyway, this track is the follow up to the previous interlude about how the lying boyfriend brings pain, and how they move on. This track is a little slower, but seeing as how these girls don't really sing...it's not good. Oh yeah, one of the girls try a wack rap...I piss.

$.10

When I Get There This song is more R&B oriented than any other track so far. A little more laid back, and suits these girls talents more. A lyrically fast (a la Beyonce of Destiny's Child) over a laid back beat. Rather enjoyable.

"I don't know where I'm going, but I'm going, and I'll know it when I get there."

$2.00

What We Gonna Do About Us – I was confused by the original beat of this track, I wasn't sure rather I liked it or not...then the vocals came in and I realized I didn't. By this point in the album, you realize that Dream falls under the catergory of people who lack serious vocal ability. This track ask the boys, what are we gonna do about us...they need to ask what they're going to do about their vocals.

$.10

Jordan (Interlude) Hehe..I get a kick out of this one. All four of the girls are getting played by one guy, and leaving messages on his machine. Funny ish. Then one of the girl calls back, and tells him that he can't play all of them. Funny, cause I thought that's what he was doing.

$.50

Mr. Telephone GOD...I WANT PUFF'S LIFE NOW!!!! Another sampled track, and its worst than the original. This track really shows that these girls can't sing.

$.00

Angel Inside –
Yes, I was looking foward to hearing Puff in the background going "Come On" and "Bad Boy". NOT!!! This is an r&b-esque track. Kinda futuristic...but I don't like many songs where the "singers" sing by speaking the words to the beat.

$.10

Do You Wanna Dance? – This wouldn't be a Bad Boy album if they didn't have a track that asked the title's question. This song is pretty self explantory, and follows the pattern of most songs on this album.

$.00

Miss You – This song is a slow track to show off these girls vocal talents, but seeing as how they have none it instead shows how damn annoying these girls voices really are.

"I miss you like crazy, I miss you being my baby. Tell me when you're coming back home."

$.05

Our Prayer (Interlude) The girls give their prayers and thanks to God. Heh, after hearing this I need to have a few words with God myself.

$.05

How Long Two back to back slow tracks? PUFF THESE GIRLS CAN'T SING!!! On this track, the girls how long will it take them to fall in love...its a pretty song..probably would be even prettier had the people signing it had talent.

$.20

He Loves U Not (Remix) -This is the NON-mtv version of this track, for Urban Radio stations only. Sad that Puff is so hard pressed to get these girls out there he has to make a pop version, and an r&b version instead of picking one genre and running with it. This beat is pretty hot, and the song was already sadly addicitve, but no originality and Puff's annoyance on this track hinder it some.

$1.00

After hearing this entire album, it's safe to say that buying the singles that are released are your best bet. Otherwise you're going to be buying a cd that you listen to once all the way through, and then listening to only a few more times until those two songs you bough the entire cd for are outdated.

Album worth: $7.20

Album price: $12.58
