| I've been waiting
to see this film for some time. Unfortuantely it was pushed back a few times, and won't
see release until the 22 of June. However, with the sign of the films soundtrack, I can
believe that the new date is now set in stone. Let's see if the soundtrack increases the
want to see this film. Good Life
'Remix' (Faith Evans, Ja Rule, Vita, and Caddillac
Tah) I didn't like this sound the first time around, and even with the helo of
Ja and Vita, the track still suffers from pure boredom. The touch of Clue putting the ol
"Ain't No N*gga" beat is a nice novelty.
$.20
Pov City Anthem (Caddillac Tah) This beat is hot, as one of the members of Murder Inc. put
their rhymes down. I never heard this cat before, but I must say I'm very impressed.
His style's a lot la Ja, but his voice is a tad deeper. Here, he spits an anthem that
represents what goes down where he's from.
$1.80
When A Man Does Wrong (Ashanti)
We head to the r&b tip here, as this young lady
Ashanti tells what happens when a man does wrong. This beat reminds me of an ol' school
Prince/Artist/whatever track. But other than that fact, the song is pretty routine. No
vocals are really used, as she basically talks over the beat.
$.50
"When a man does wrong. Ain't no coming back home. Can't come around, there ain't no
place, she don't wanna see your face." - Ashanti
Race Against Time Part 2 (Tank, Ja Rule)
Here, the newcomer r&b crooner tag teams with Ja Rule for a track where
they talk about how they can't stop living their life, even if its too hot....they're in a
race against time. Its an average track.
$.70
Furious (Ja Rule, Vita, and 01) Ja Rule at his best. Forget that cry ish he has out there
now. This hard, fast, hot track shows Ja at his best. I believe I have heard this track
elsewhere before..perhaps their compilation album...anyway the track still brings the
heat.
$2.00
Take My Time Tonight (R. Kelly) We slow it down, and listen to the man who can't be on the radio anymore
than he already it. On this ballad, Kelly talks about how he wants to shut everything out
of his life, and take his time tonight on that body tonight.
$1.70
"I just wanna take my time
tonight, holdin your body tight. Keepin you warm. Nothings gonna stop this feeling,
I'll be giving you sexual healing." - R. Kelly
Suicide (Scarface, I.G.) I'm
probably the only person who thinks this, but Scarface should never rap on slow tracks.
With the excpetion of his collabo with 2 pac, everything else that he's done slow comes
off as pure boredom...especially with his rappin style. Anyway, this track is slow, and
listening to it enough will make you want to commit suicide.
$.00
The Prayer (Black Child) Here Black Child says a ghetto prayer to God. I have a bit of a problem
with rappers speaking about God, and using every curse word they can find iin the same
sentence. Oh well, Child is trying to give his thoughts to the Lord the best way he can.
$1.00
Tudunn Tudunn Tudunn (Funkmaster Flex, Noreaga) - Always
good to get a laugh from Noreaga's corny lyrics, when in fact he believes he's hard.
Hilarious. Anyway, this song is corny all around the way. Verse's, hook's, and the
annoying 'Flex' chant that occurs in the background.
$.00
Hustlin (Fat Joe, Armageddon) Joe and a member of the Terror Squad....a clique that always had lyrical
ability. They don't fail to deliver here on this track. On this track they talk about what
else...hustlin.
$1.80
Freestlye (Boo & Ghotti) - This here is a track from those two Rockland (R.
Kelly's label) artists found on Fiesta. I found their style on that track to be very
reminiscant of another rap group...of course that group has three members instead of two.
Still don't know? Their name rhymes with Cocks. Anyway, on this track the beat switches to
some beats we've all heard before, and the guys do damn nice on them. Of course, I KNOW
they didn't freestly this.
$.75
Rollin (Limp Bizkit, DMX, Method Man & Redman) This track was on Limp Bizkit's album. It was hot then, its hot now. Swizz
beats blessed this track, and it will definately get anyone with a pulse bouncing off the
walls like a kid with a box of sugar.
$3.00
"And I'll be runnin you and your man straight
up out. All you n*gg*z ain't runnin a f*ck*n thing but yo' mouth." - DMX
Life Ain't A Game (Ja Rule) An
extremely futuristic beat, something that seems odd for Ja Rule. Oh lord...Rule is singing
the hook. Luckily the verses balance out the horrid sound. Here Ja spits on an up
tempo track talking about how life ain't a game.
$1.60
Cali Diseaz (Shade Sheist, Nate Dogg) I like Nate Dogg, but this track is a little too slow for him and for this
horrible "rapper" named Shade Sheist. Apparently this cat has ties with
Dre...just hope their beats is all thats similar...cause so far their rapping abilities
are identical
$.00
Didn't I (Petey Pablo) The
man from Carolina,Petey Pablo, has certainly gained my ear lately, as his first single
"Raise Up" from his album (all produced by Timbaland) dropping this summer is
off the chain. This beat here is pretty weak, but Petey does the best he can with it. On
this track, Petey talks about what he did...Didn't he.
$1.80
Put It On Me 'Remix' (Ja Rule, Vita & Lil' Mo) Um...duh?!? I'm not even going to discuss this. You know its hot. Just not
new.
$2.00
Justify My Love (Vita, Ashanti) On this track, Vita and Ashanti talk over a beat in a moaning fashion that
becomes very tired after the first 30 seconds...let alone to last for 5 minutes.
$1.20
Don't be fooled by the price number, this cd had 17 track
so it was going to garner a little higher price than it should. Anyway, the tracks that
are outstanding on this soundtrack can be found on various other albums, and the one's
that are good just aren't good enough to buy the whole album for. I would say just listen
to the radio, and the ones that deserve to be on the radio from this album will be...the
others will never be heard from again.
