A Review by

Vigilante

Man, this album has been a long time coming. I first heard Fabolous on the Dj Clue album while he was named Fabolous Sport. The track he was on by himself was the best song on the whole album. He then came with another hot track on the Backstage soundtrack. Now, with his single "Can't Deny It" and his many guest appearances have blown his career up...his first album is presented to the masses. Was the wait worth it?

Click & Spark On this track, Fab shows to all those who didn't know that he has flow...mad flow. And on this 2 minute track, he barely stops for breath. This is sort of an intro track to Fab himself, and unile most intro's he actually spits on it. Nice.

Track Rating: $1.25

Keepin It Gangsta This track was first released on the "Backstage" soundtrack, and for me put Fab back in the game for me. This beat is just too hot. Fab makes his claim to how his whole crew keeps it gangsta.

$3.00

"Yall know who.(Keepin it Gangsta) We come through.(keepin it gangsta) Ya'll know how we do.(keepin it gangsta) My whole crew.(Keepin it gangsta)" - Fabolous

Young'N Neptunes produced track, and like most things the Neptunes produce..the beat is hot, but the song itself is as hollow as the president's head. Here's a clear example of that case. The beat is just wrong for this song, and the hook is dangerously annoying.

$0.50

Get Right This beat is rather catchy, and like most of fab's track..very club friendly. Unfortunately, this track loses points from me because it samples a hook from a very prominent deceased rapper. I don't like biters, especially when you do it more than once in a cd.

$1.25

"And I may be crazy, but I see some ladies tonight that should be drinking my babies." - Fabolous

Ride For This (ft. Ja Rule) Damn, is there a cd this Tuesday Ja Rule doesn't show up on?! Anyway, Rule's voice once again proves that its very capable of keeping a chorus hot. With Rule on chorus, a hot as beat, and Fab brining his quick lyrical flow..this is definately a solid track.

$2.00

One Day – Fab slows it down, as he reflects on some pieces of his life. He says the his mom and dad used to tell him one day it would happen...one day he would be rappin. Its good to see that Fab can change up his style.

$1.75

"Youngstas don't let these videos eat your mind. It ain't cool to enter the deceased for shyne. And if you can't get the whole pie, just take yo piece and grind." - Fabolous

Trade It All (ft. Jagged Edge) On this r&b/hiphop collabo, Fab and Edge talk about how they will trade in everything they have for the girl. Like always, Jagged Edge's ghetto style seap through making this song very credible and enjoyable.

$1.75

Right Now & Later On (ft. Timbaland) - I don't know where the hell Timbaland gets his ideas for beat, but someone needs to get this man an award YESTERDAY. Anyway Fab and Tim use this hot beat to create one of the best club tracks I've heard in awhile, catchy hook with nice flows in between. This song is hot.

$2.75

"I'm trying to get you in and out of my room. Just to get, in and out of your womb." - Fabolous

Take You Home (ft. Lil Mo)Once again, Fab uses an ol songs hook and pastes it to his song. Not really a bad thing, but it shows the limitation of his creativity. Anyway, he cashes in on his favor and gets Lil' Mo to show up on this track. Its a decent track, but nothing to write home about. (Pun intended).

$.60

Get Smart – A song about head...I'm sold. This shit is hot!

$3.50

"Still what I mean is, yo brain gotta send chills through my penis. Till I feel like a genius." - Fabolous

"Bitches done got real mad. Cause now I pull out, leave em lookin like models from a 'Got Milk' ad." - Fabolous.

Can't Deny It (ft. Nate Dogg) - First single from the cd, and if you're reading this review. You know about it. Not the first time I heard form Fab, and its the least favorite song of the tracks I heard from him before this album. Its still hot though...once again he uses a classic rapper's sample.

$2.00

Ma' Be Easy – I don't know how its done, but the voice on the chorus alone makes this song hot. Its so wild its hot.  Fabolous talks about how females need to calm down.

$2.00

We Don't Give a Fuck – On this track, Fab lets off some steam he has on his chest about haters, and basically tells them 'he doesn't give a fuck'. Sounds good to me. He also throws a note to all those people who says he sounds like Mase.

$2.00

"Ok, I rap a little faster. But do I really look like I'll turn from a rapper to a pastor?" - Fabolous

The Bad Guy – Fab talks about how he's a bad guy. I'm sorry, though he says he's had a hard life or whatever. I find it hard to take someone that looks the way he does seriously. Anyway, the track is solid. Just nothing special.

$1.00

Bonus Track #1 – I'm not really feeling this track. Oh well, there had to be more than one track that I just don't vibe with. Its not that its a bad track, but since Fab's style of rapping never changes..then if the beat or topic are way above par...the track becomes just blah.

$0.25

Bonus Track #2 – The track from the 1st Clue cd...this is what started it all for Fab. Listen, and enjoy.

$2.50

Fabolous brings a solid effort to teh table, and creates a very solid cd overall. I will admit that his style never falters, and if you aren't a fan of Fab's..then you won't be of this album. Also, if you tend to shy away from rappers that are more for the club scene (I usually do, but this is an exception cause Fab has actual lyrical flow)...then you may want to pick something else up. If neither of those two things include you, then this is one hot rap album to pick up in this thin rap genre right now.

Album worth: $28.10

Album price: $14.99
