Detailed Instructions.

A Review by

Vigilante

The producer of the SoSoDef camp releases his second "solo" album, and after the sales of the first one. One would've thought this would come a lot faster. I personally though "Life in..." was a decent cd...but became tired and played out very quickly. Is that the case with the Instructions? Lets see.

Intro This track introduces Jd as if he was coming into a club. Nothing special. Another waste of track space.

$.00

Welcome To Atlanta (ft. Ludacris) Hot ass way to come off that weak intro. Ludacris comes in with the beat, and just rips this song to hell. He and JD represent the city of Atlanta to the fullest.

$2.00

Money, Hoes, and Power (ft. UGK & Project Pat)  – This song is just too much. Vigilante loves the hell out of this song. This track basically allows the southern boys to claim they have money, hoes, and power...and how all night they'll be steady pimpin.

$3.00

The Dream (Interlude) Funny little interlufe where a young lady is dreamin about ish Jermaine Dupri is going to do for her.

$.50

Get Some (ft. Usher, Boo & Gotti) I swear if I hear these wack ass Rockland boys again, I'm going to snap and kill someone one. Anyway, this short track (2:30) says how that they gotta get some. I like the song, its just way too short for its own good.

$.50

Hate (Interlude)  – A bunch of haters leaving voice messages on his machine. He calls Bow wow little chow chow....cute.

$.50

Hate Blood (ft. Jadakiss) This song brings the heat. On this song, JD and friends talk about how people who hate got "hate me"  blood.

$3.25

"Do I floss? Yes. Sometimes I hit the block so damn hard I start hatin myself." - JD

Ballin Out of Control (ft. Nate Dogg) First single off the album, and like usual..Nate Dogg has the ability to damn near bless any and every track. This track is out of control....catchy. Ridin down the street with this blaring is the ultimate high.

$3.00

"Cuase I flow for those who get that dough. Hits for every chick with a size 'C' tit." -JD

Supafly  - This is probably the hardest Jd has rapped on anything, but this song just doesn't ring anything for me. In fact, this song often gets me to hit the next button faster than normal. Its a typical pimp track, and I'm sorry if the beat isn't up to par...then JD becomes rather redudant rapping about the same thing over and over again.

$1.50

Instructions (Interlude)  – This is a interlude that takes the voice those instructional tapes have on them explain the following instructions.

$.05

Rules of the Game  – The beat on this song is pretty hot, but the song get boring fast as hell. It coule because of the wack hook, and the fact that the originality of lyrical content is sadly missing.

$.25

Prada (Interlude)Another annoying ass interlude. All these interludes could be song you know JD?

$.00

Whatever (ft. Nate Dogg) - No. This song is not good at all. in fact probably the weakest song on the album. On this track, JD uses a beat the reminds me of the entire"Glitter" album.  I guess my comment about Nate Dogg earlier has already been disproven.

$.10

Let's Talk About It  (ft. Philly's Most Wanted)This beat is hot..sounds more like a Neptunes beat than a JD track. Anyway the repetition of the hook and the beat make this song a catchy little song to grow on to. Again..nothing special lyrically happening here.

$1.70

World Is Yours and Mines  (ft. Jagged Edge)Why a super producer like Jermaine Dupri would have Swizz "hasbeen" Beats do a beat on his album in beyond me. Anyway, the beat is decent...but the hook from Jagged Edge sounds very similar to something that was on their album. Ah well.

$1.00

Jazzy Hoes Pt. 2  (ft. Too Short & Dogg Pound)Part two to one of the sweetest song on JD's first album. Same topic....all they want is those women who take all their dough, the one you wanna make your wife.

$2.75

Hot Mama  (Interlude)MAKE THEM STOP!!!!

$.00

You Bring The Freak Out (ft. Da brat & Khandi of Xscape)Ill ass beat for a freaky ass song like this. On this track, Khandi sings the hook about how she loves the way a man brings the freak out of her. Then Brat & JD come in to let the beat have it. Song is only 3 minutes..that's too bad.

$1.80

The Morning After  (Interlude)Shoot me

$.00

Rock With Me  – A Jackson's type beat, where JD strolls down memory lane as he talks about how he went down the road to what is now SoSoDef. From Kriss Kross to Bow Wow...JD goes through it all. A catchy little song, and its kind of cool to see the path SSD took to get where it is now.

$1.00

This album is going to do the exact same thing Life did. Sale well initially, but then once everyone actually takes the time to listen to the cd. They will get passed the beats and see that every song is about the same thing. Pimpin hoes, and haveing a big cash stack get tired quickly...especially stretched over 20 tracks. If you want a cd to blast in your car while you don't have to really listen to the words....snatch this sucker up. But rap fans beware.

Album worth: $22.90

Album price: $14.99
