Jakko's Back.

A Review by

Vigilante

I'm not even about to get into how long we've been anticipating this album. Its like the wait we've had to endure for the third Ghostbusters film...and where the hell is that?!? Anyway, the second popular Mike returns to the limelight with his first new album in about a decade. Let's see if the gloved one still has it.

Unbreakable (ft. Notorious B.I.G) The first track on this album follows the tone Mike left us with on History. Happy, but with a huge burned to get off his chest. On this track, he tells people that they have been trying to take him down for quite some time..but they can't touch him...he's unbreakble. Catchy song, but nothing that will make or BREAK this album (I had to). Biggie drops a nice little verse, I guess recorded when he guest appeared on "History".

$1.50

Heartbreaker   This is one futuristic ass beat, in fact...almost too busy for MJ. Another catchy track, but Mike manages to out pop most of today's corny pop stars. This sounds more like a song the Backdoor Boys would jam too....not the King of Pop. There's a rap on here as well, sounds like one of R.Kelly's Rockland boys. Still the track is less tha average.

$.60

Invincible  – On this track Mike tells a girl that some other guy can't do it like he can, and that whatever he does...the girl won't give in cause she's invincible. This song is starting to grow on me, but at first listen...its another cookie cutter pop track. ANOTHER damn rap artists on this album. If it was Jay-Z, or someone else with talent besides these Rockland boys..I'd be fine with that. Unfortunately..its not.

$.75

Break of Dawn This song is a laid back love makin song, and Vigilante likes it a lot. On this track, MJ says that he won't stop making love to the break of dawn. This song is real smooth, and definately shows that Mike doesn't have to conform to today's standards of pop to be who he is.

$2.75

"I don't want the sun to shine. I wanna make love (To the break of dawn). Yes there's magic in your eyes, and in my heart. I don't know what I'm gon do, I can't stop loving   you.  I won't stop till the break of dawn, makin love." - Michael Jackson

Heaven Can Wait Whoa! My fav track on the album so far. Mike lays down some emotional knowledge here. On this track Mike says he couldn't pass away and no that his girl would be back on Earth being alone or loved by someone else....he says Heaven Can Wait.

$3.50

"No, If the angels took me from this Earth. I would tell them bring me back to her. That's the chance I'll take. Baybe I'll stay, Heaven can wait." - Michael Jackson

You Rock My World  – The first single from the album, that has thrusted the gloved one back into the spotlight. At first, I wasn't feeling this song that much. But after numerous listens, and watching the epic video...one can't help but love this catchy ass tune. Jakko's back, shimone.

$2.50

Butterflies On this track, MJ sings sweetly about how he would do anything, and wishes he could be with her tonight cause she gives him butterflies. Another one of my fav tracks off the album.

$2.75

Speechless I can hardly speak about this song...it left me like the title says. This song is beautiful. He says though he is with someone, he is at a lost for words and nothing is foreal. Kind of short though.

$3.00

2000 Watts - What the F*ck is this?! For starters, this doesn't even sound like Michael Jackson on this track. This  Then, this beat is just too freakin much for MJ. Its like Mike is trying to force himself into the new wave of music, and he's trying to damn hard. Leave this for Nsync.

$.10

Shout  – MJ sings about how some girl is the love of his life, makes him shine, and is his world. Pretty song, not spectacular.

$1.75

Don't Walk Away  – Here Mike says that he knows there's nothing left to do or say in this relationship, and that he will do anything so his girl will stay. He just doesn't want her to walk away.

$3.25

Privacy – Michael goes back to his style that was all over "History", where his song was angry and he had some ish to get off his chest over a hard rock beat. Its a decent track about how he wished the media would give him back his privacy. Its a decent track, but not something I would listen to repeatedly.

$.80

Cry  – This is mike's song to bring the whole world together. On this intensity building track, Mike says that he himself can't do it a lone...but as a group they can change the world. But they are going to have to cry at the same time.

$3.25

The Lost Children - Should Mike really be doing a song about children?! :-) Anyway, on this track, mike is telling the world to remember the lost children and to pray for them to get home.

$2.00

Whatever Happens – I love this song to death. Mike tells a story on this track of a girl who is afraid of what is to come, but the guy in the story tells her that everything will be ok..but whatever happens..don't let go of my hands. THis track has a rock, salsa, pop type of thing going for it..and its hot.

$3.75

Threatned – Michael gets cocky on this fast paced closer. I like it. Here he sings about how he's the one watching you while you sleep, and creep, and whenever your lady speaks..she speaks to him. So you should be threatned by him.

$2.20

Mike makes his return with a very solid album. There are times throughout this album where it appears Mike is trying to damn hard to fit in with today's pop stars, and it just isn't him. However, those tracks are very few and Mike is allowed to shine on the album on songs where he sticks to his roots. Fans of Mike will love this album, but those of you who like Mike with a certain sound may be a little dissapointed.

Album worth: $34.45

Album price: $13.99
