-REVIEW INTRO-

This is definitely not a cd I had on my X-mas list, but somehow I pulled the long straw and got stuck reviewing this thing. Being a former Limp Bizkit fan, I figured that remixes to their classic song would have to have some redeeming factor. Well, there are some, and then there are times where this cd is nothing more than a poor rehash of Bizkit material. I'm not going to discuss what each song is about, because if you're reading this..than you're a fan and already know every track.

-TRACK RUN-DOWN-

1. Nookie (Neptunes Remix)The classic track "Nookie" gets a revamping thanks to the VA duo of the Neptunes. The actual song of this song is the same, over a beat that is decent..but nothing to write home about. However, when this song switches to the Will Pherrell chorus...the beat is ten times better. Unfortunately, sitting through the rest of the uninspired track is not worth it.

Track Rating: $.75

2. Take A Look Around (Timbaland Remix ft. Eightball & E-40) My favorite Limp song and my favorite producer hook up? It should be nothing less than stellar right? WRONG!! This beat is hot as hell, however it sounds severely off balance with Fred's vocals. It could also be that this song was/is known as the Mission Impossible 2 theme, and there was already one remix for it. But this song just suffers. It does sort of pick up during the Eightball and E-40 raps, in fact those two feel really at home on the beat. "Now I know why you hate me" doesn't have that same feeling it once did.

$.50

3. Break Stuff (DJ Lethal Remix) Perhaps because he was a part of the group, but Lethal's song fits the song to a 'T'. And this beat is hot shit. Where have they been hiding this guy. At the end, some unnecessary scratching takes place. Luckily it doesn't last long enough to take away from this solid remix.

$2.25

4. My Way (P.Diddy Mix) Dear Lord...a P.Diddy mix? How many times can we say 'Bad Boy' in one track? 1 . Anyway, this beat is actually tight. Unlike the other two tracks done by non Limp members, this song caters to the angry dark message this song was originally about. Albeit adding a little futuristic vibe to it...but doesn't everyone think the future is dark anyway?

$2.00

5. Crushed (Bosko Remixed ft. Bosko) Whoa!! This shit ain't no joke. On this remix, the limp boys use some Roger Troutman voicebox work that adds even more to the simple snares and chords. This beat reminds me of some stuff that would've been on a Tupac album back in the day..California Love type ish.

$3.50

6. N 2gether (Neptunes Remix ft. Method Man)It appears this cd has hit a stride, as the Netpunes turn in a solid ass track here. This song is a lot happier than the original version, but has a catchy vibe to it that just gets you bouncin to it. Plus, the addition of Will's voice in the hook adds to the new style of the track as well.

$2.00

7. Rearranged (Timbaland Remix ft. Bubba Sparxxx) Tim gets another shot at Remixing the Limp, and once again...his style is a little unfitting with Limps. Its almost like someone is taking two puzzle pieces that are the same piece and trying to make them fit. The song here is a little better, especially when someone who uses a Tim beat better comes in (Sparxxx).

$1.00

8. Getcha Groove On (Dirt Road Mix Remixed by DJ Premier ft. Xzibit) - A simple little beat that sounds more like someone playing with a simple simon than an actual producer at work. However simple it is, it works. Not the best track, but you certainly won't skip because of it.

$1.50

9. Faith/Fame Remix (Mixed by Fred Durst and John Abraham ft. Everlast)The fact that the guest artist is Everlast just goes to show how big of  a bitch Fred Durst truly is. (One minute he's ready to go do a dis track with Eminem against him, now he's slobbing his knob.) Anyway, this song is nothing to really write home about. And gets even worse when the 'rap' comes in.

$.25

10. My Way (Remixed by DJ Lethal)The beat is very nice, however it makes the track a little more heavenly than the dark sadistic side it was to have.

$1.50

11. Nookie - Androids Vs. Las Putas Remix (Remixed By Butch Vig)

- This song all of a sudden became a techno club mix, and it works. There's a slight battle going on between the two different styles of techno, and causes for a couple o

$2.00

12. Counterfeit - Lethal Dose Extreme Guitar Mix (Remixed By DJ Lethal)
I'm not feeling this track all that much, probably because I didn't enjoy the original much. Anyway, Lethal creates another dead on beat that suits well for a song that I am still questioning as to why it made it on this album.

$.75

13. Rollin - DJ Monk-Vs-The Track Mack Remix (Remixed by DJ Monk-Vs-The Track Mack)

-
This remix is catchy and thats fine and dandy. However, it completely desecrates anything the original classic song created. You can't actually go "Rollin" with this damn song.

$.75

14. My Way -   DJ Premier Way Remix (Remixed By DJ Premier) (Bonus Track)

-
I've heard this version somewhere before. It was nothing to write home about, and it still isn't.

$.20

15. My Way -  William Orbit's Mix (Remixed By William Orbit) (Bonus Track)

-
How many different ways can you hear one song? That is the question of the hour. This time, we take it to the future. Exact same song other than some spaceship sounds. Boring.

$.30

16. My Way -  Pistols' Dancehall Dub (Remixed By The Dub Pistols) (Bonus Track)

-
My way, taken to the club scene. Not something that this song belongs with..at all.

The Best Tracks: The Last Word(s):

This album is for Limp B fans, and Limp B fans alone. The song with the name producers (save for Timbaland) are rather exceptional. However those songs that are by producers no one has ever heard of lack in originality and depth. Especially the dance/club tracks. If you want to complete your Limp Bizkit collection, then pick this up. Otherwise get the few sweet tracks offline and wait for the new album.
