A Review by

Vigilante

The rest of the boys here at Gyeah.com probably are going to want to place my balls in a sling for this review, but I truly don't give a rats ass. In the words of Bizzare of D12..."The Goc doesn't like Nsync, well I do. So f*ck him, and the backtreet boys too." I am one of the growing people who have decided to look beyond the marketable and *cough* color *cough* characterisitics of the worlds top boy band and see them for the long lasting artists they really are. The more and more these boys grow in the musical department, the more and more attendion they get from many lovers of music...and when you find yourself filtering into the urban music genre..and getting nods from several hiphop and r&b artists calling them the next Boyz 2 Men...its time I take notice. So here I am with Nsync's third album, Celebrity.

Pop– The first single from the highley anticipated third album, Nysnc mixes it up a bit with a rock/pop vibe that creates a beat almost as freaky and catchy as something Timbaland would do. Anyway, on this track...the boys send a message to the naysayers out there who question the music they do. They say, do your own and worry about your own stuff and they will continue to get theres.  Another catchy track from these boys.

$3.00

"Now why you want to try and classify the type of thing we do/Cause we're just fine doin' what we like/Can we say the same for you?/I'm tired of feelin' all around me animosity/Just worry bout yours cause I'm a get mine now people can't you see." - JC Chasez

Celebrity Title track here, where Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins comes and laces the boys with another off the motha f'n hook track. On this track, Nsync ask if they weren't celebrities would they (females) be so into them. The beat is pretty hot, but the actual song is pretty weak. In fact, sad to say..Justin sounds like Ray J would on a Darkchild track. NOT A GOOD THING. Decent filler material.

$.80

The Game Is Over  – Lol..this beat is pretty wild. Like the title would lead you to beleive...this song uses sounds from videogames (Pac Man mostly) in the form that Beanie Sigel did awhile ago. On this track, Nysnc uses a fast beat to sing about a relationship that is over. Towards the end of this track, it becomes a little rockish...which just seems odd for this track. A typical song, with a pretty hot beat and way of doing it.

$1.50

Girlfriend A Neptunes produced track here, where Nysnc tell a girl that they should be a girlfriend cause the guy she's with isn't treating her right. This track grows on your after a few listens. Its not quite a ballad, and its not quite one of their dance tracks. Its one of those mellowed out tracks that just flows.

$2.00

The Two Of Us I'm a little confused as to what this song was trying to accopmlish. First it sounds like its going to be a nice little ballad, then it quickly morphs into a club dance track. Interesting. Here, the verses are sung in ballad form and the hook in dance club style about a girl that they have been waiting for all day...and they can't wait till they get alone and its just the two of us. However odd this combo may be..I really am digging this track.

$2.75

Gone  – The first real ballad on the album, and the boys show off their real superior strength in vocals and writing. On this track the guitar strings, the style of singing, and the topic of the song (about a girl who's gone and they are sitting there trying to get her out of her mind) just click together wonderfully. This has to be one of the singles off of this album.

$4.00

"I've been sitting here/Can't get you off my mind/ I'm tryin my best to be a man and be strong/ I drove myself insane wishing I could touch your face/But the truth remains, you're gone" - Nsync

Tell Me, Tell Me Baby This song just annoys me. Its like "Its Gonna Be Me" part 2. I liked that song, but it got tired very quickly. This song starts off tired. In that songs same fashion, the boys sing to an uptempo beat demanding a girl tell them why she doesn't want to love them.

$.15

Up Against The Wall A fast paced track...again. Here, Nysnc creates another dance track where they talk about how they saw a girl in a club, went up to her, and then she took their hands and started grinding them up against the wall. Its really another typical dance track, only with a two step vibe and a pretty common topic.

$1.50

See Right Through You - Nysnc brings in another uptempo track, this time they sing about a girl who is playing games on them while she is with another guy. The topic saves this song from being another typical fast paced track.

$2.25

"These games have got to stop/ I'm Bout to get pissed off/you had to keep leading me on/ You thought you had me fooled, but I see right through you ." -Nsync

Selfish  – Man, I was bout to get nervous. An entire Nsync album with one ballad? Has the world gone mad!!! Anyway, the second ballad gives the production credit to the legendary Brian McKnight. Brian McKnight and Nsync make a pretty damn solid combination. On this track, the boys sing how they are selfish because all they want is the love of a girl.

$4.00

"You can call me selfish. But all I want is your love. And you can call me hopless, cause I'm hoplessly in love. You can call me imperfect, but who's perfect. Tell me what do I gotta do, to prove I'm the only one for you." - Nsync

Just Don't Tell Me That  – Another fast paced track, this song seems like just about any other teen pop groups song. I like this one a little more cause the topic is actually worth a damn. On this track the boys sing about how they're done with a girl, and that even if she did say that she loved them...they woudn't take her back. Cause its not about love...so just don't tell them that.

$1.20

Something Like You – 3rd ballad here. On this track the boys go almost accapella, with just a simple drum tap and harmonica in the background. On this track, the boys sing beautifully about how they never thought something like their girl could happen to them. Man...this bad boy has some heart in it. And I think I've found a new site that shows how much Angel means to Vig. (Go to hell all you loveless saps)

$4.50

"Something happens when you look at me, I forget to speak. Something happens when you kiss my mouth, my knees get so weak. Could this be true, is this what God meant for me? Cuase baby I can't beleive, that something like you could happen to me." -   Nsync

Do Your Thing  – On this track, Nysnc sing a positive message just telling people to do their thing. Forget the haters, ingore the obstcles in the way, and don't ever come up short. Just do your thing, and do it well. Nice ish.

$3.00

I really could care less what people say about Nsync (as you can tell by the first and last track on this album, neither do they) these boys have talent. And with this album, they show that they are going to be around for awhile. Through the drunken madness of teh backdoor boys, and the one hit wonderness of 98 degrees....these boys have longetivty. World, meet the white Boyz 2 Men called Nsync...its a name you won't be forgetting anytime soon. Those Nsync fans will be rather pleased, and those of you who listen to these boys in the late night hours while no ones watching...its ok. You're not alone.

Album worth: $30.65

Album price: $13.28
