Pretty damn addictive

A Review by

Vigilante

If you haven't heard the first single from Missy's new cd "Get Ur Freak On" you don't own a radio. Its that simple, that or you're deaf. Either way, your missing out on one of the most addictive tracks of the year. Which is no wonder why her new album is entitled just that, "So Addictive". Does the entire album follow that album's title...let's take a look shall we.

So Addictive (featuring Charlene "Tweet" Keys) On this little interlude, Missy and Tweet sing about how you don't need drugs, liquor or nothing..all you need is this album and Timbaland's beats cause they're so addivtive. Nice little opener.

$.75

Dog-N-Heat (ft. Redman & Method Man) This track had to grow on me at first, but it soon became one of my favorite on the album. On this track, Redmdan and Method do the rapping, while Missy comes in singing the rest. Timbo made this beat more fitting for Meth and Red, and its hot.

$2.00

NO! 1 Minute Man (ft. Ludacris) On this track, Missy sings about how she doesn't want no "1 minute man". The beat is off the wall, with some futuristic ish that is even more evident in the hook when the beat matches the style of missy's singing. Then Ludacris comes in and sends this track home.

"Break me off, show me what you got, cause I don't want no one minute man." - Missy

"Just cause I'm an all nighter, shoot all fire, Ludacris balance and rotate all tires." - Ludacris

$2.50

Lick Shots – Damn!! The little snippet that rests at the end of the Get Ur Freak On video is here in the form of a full out song, and this ish is hot!! Timbaland puts his foot down in this track, and Missy's rappin style is sprinkled all over this track. If you don't move with this track, you don't have a damn pulse.

$4.00

"You don't wanna speak my name, mess around get that ass blown away. Fool gon away, I ain't never like you tell anyway." - Missy

Get Ur Freak On HEADBANGA'!! No truer words have ever been spoken. Timbaland and Missy take this cd to the next level. This is probably the most addictive track on the airwaves this year. Simple Missy lyrics with the beats of Timbaland=HOT ISH!! It almost seems as if Timbo has a "Halloween" sample in the background. If you haven't heard this track yet, pull your head out of your ass.

"Is that yo b!tch?! People you don't know...me and Timbaland been hot since twenty years ago."- Missy

$4.50

Screamin aka. Itchin'  – Missy hits a zone here an runs with it. Another head knocker here, where Missy raps/talks in double time to the hot beat while Tim comes through on the hook.

$2.75

Old School Joint  –
On this track, Missy slows it down and sings over one of those old school tracks that all you old bastards used to groove to. This track succeeds in its quest to recreate that old school feel. There is another female voice on this track, whom I don't recognize and becomes rather annoying at times.

$1.50

Take Away (ft. Ginuwine & Nicole) The album comes to a complete stop, as Missy and Ginuwine sing this ballad to each other. On this song, Missy and G talk about how that they can take away the money, cars, and everything but they will still love each other. Pretty hot, not as good as G' and Missy's first track together (Friendly Skies) but still nice.

"Take your gold and platinum chains. Cause I'm gon' love, love you anyway. I'm not in it for hte love of cash. Cause if you go broke, I gotta make it last." - Missy

$1.00

4 My People (ft. Eve)- I don't usually care much for club track, but this track is off the meter!!! Timbaland has proven that he can do a beat for anything, and it will still be hot. On this track, Missy sings about how she came to a party to down. Then Eve comes in and further ignites a blazing track.

"I'm at the bar now, and I'm buying drinks. And I got this feeling, and its all over me. I wanna dance with you, and lick you face. Take me on the dance floor to feel some xtasy."- Missy

$3.00

Busta Bus Interlufe (ft. Bustah Rhymes)Odd, you get Bustah Rhymes on your album..and you don't have him rap? This is a rather weak interlude that can be completely ommitted.

$.10

Whatcha Gon' Do (ft. Timbaland)- Timbaland and Missy rap back and forth on this bouncing track that seems to take a page straight from the islands. On this track, Tim and Missy talk about all their accolades and basically offers up the question..."Whatcha Gon' Do?" Ultimate question.

"Thats what you gonna expect comin from my crew, bunch of ill beats and a bunch of dope lyrics to. I know thats too much for you to handle dude, but ask yourself what you gonna do."- Timbaland

$2.50

Step Off  – This beat is off the wall, and Missy uses it to sing on. Luckily the song is hot, so it all works.   On this track, Missy sings about how she's the only one who does what a man likes, and that all the other women should just step off.

"I'm the only one who keep you statisfied.Though we're not together, I remember what you like.  So tell them chicks to step off, cause I fill your appettite. I'm the only woman who can do it like you like." - Missy

$3.00

Xtasy – This is mind track, basically something to listen to while you're under some kind of influence. Rather it be sexual, drugs, or whatever. Basically Missy says how making love feels like she's on Xstasy. I think I  have found a track I just don't like.

$.10

Slap!Slap!- (ft. Da Brat/Jade)It is a proven fact that Da Brat loses her damn mind on any Timbaland beat, and that fact occurs again. This track is used basically to show the lyrical flow of three of  hip-hop's mc's. Its hot, the beat is pretty basic but still hot. Its a solid track, but not one of the best.

$1.50

I've Changed (ft. Lil Mo)Lil' Mo and Missy singing a little interlude about how the've changed the game. No doubt, and ish the same since these two ladies dropped into the game.

$1.50

NO! 1 Minute Man (ft. Jay-Z) Hidden track, and is the same as the other  one except here Ludacris is replaced by J Hova himself. The song is till hot,  and Jay-Z delivers some hilarious lyrics on this one. Track is hot either way it goes.

$2.50

I'm not sure how this album stands up against her previous two albums, personally I think its a little weaker than the previous two. Of course, considering how those two albums were through the damn stratosphere...this album still holds its own. There is a lot more singing on this album then her previous effort, of course where there is singing she always balances it with having artists on the track that hold down the hip hop side. With Timbaland and Missy still running together, I see nothing but platinum status for Missy's new album. This will definately be the summer of the man from Va with Aaliyah's album due in June, and his to follow shortly.

Album worth: $33.20

Album price: $14.99
