THE Superhero

A Review by

Vigilante

There are many versions of top r&b male singers in the world. From the eclectic Musiq Soulchild to the raunchy/sexual R. Kelly's. R&B males come in many forms. But one man still manages to keep class and taste in the r&b genre, and with this album...shall further indent his presence into the community. If people didn't know who Brian McKnight was before, they sure as hell are about to get a rude awakening.

Prelude  Brian uses this prelude to introduce his musical genius upon the unsuspecting masses. He does some things with many different instruments in this 'prelude' that tug at the emotional center of the heart....and the man doesn't even sing. This is a nice way to kick start this album. In a way, this song reminds me of some music during Tim Burton's 'Batman' days. Its nice.

$1.75

When You Wanna Come Brian McKnight gets a little freaky on this uptemo track, as he talks about men who think about themselves during making love..but fail to consider the woman's needs. He asks what does she want him to do, and when does she wanna come. NOW THAT'S MY NIGGA!!

$3.25

"Its All about you, and what you wanna do. Everything you like. Pullin on your hair keep it right there. All night, All night. Can't go too long, puttin it down strong till your work is done. Somebody say relax, don't do it...when you wanna come?"

What's It Gonna Be Brian mellow's out on this track. Here, McKnight asks her girl to tell him that she doesn't really want to go, and that she really wants him as much as she wants her. So, he asks the ultimate question...what's it gonna be. Solid track.

$1.80

My Kinda Girl (ft. Justin Timberlake of N'Sync) This song is simply beautiful. Justin and Brian gel together perfectly. On this track, the two sing in a accapella esque style about a woman who is their kinda girl. This song is hot.

$3.50

Love of My Life Did someone change my Brian Mcknight cd to Prince's cd?! Huh? Anyone? Guess not, but I'll be damned if Mr. McKnight doesn't sound like Prince on this track. Anwyay, no matter who he sounds like..this song is PERFECT. The song that I can see being played at many marriages down the line...McKnight displays his love for the love

$4.00

"You're more than wonderful. More than amazing. The irreplacable love of my life. You're so incredible. Here in these arms of mine. The irreplacable love of my life." - Brian McKnight.

Whatever You Want –  Brian takes a sample from Prince's classic "I Would Die 4 u", and makes a catchy little track that in some ways is a sequel to When U wanna come in topic. On this track Brian says that Whatever you want, and whatever you need....it not about him, its about what she likes.

$1.75

Everything– On this track, McKnight sing about what he would do for his girl, and how she is everything & the one. Another pretty track.

$3.00

"I'll sail across the ocean, bring you the sun. With you I see forever, you are the one. Girl you're everything I need and more. You are my everything, my everything...for sure." -Brian McKnight

Get Over You - Here McKnight, says all the things he should have done to keep his girl by his side. But now that she's gone, he can't sleep at night and that it may take forever to get over her. Another of many heartfelt ballads on this album. Someone give Vigilante a tissue.

$3.50

Superhero – The second Supafriendz track on the soundtrack, and the best track on the album thus far. The beat creates a "herim girl" type of feel with the hook, and Jo Doja spits like I've never seen him before. This track is both addictive and hot.

$3.00

Still  – On this ballad, Brian tells the girl that he's seperated that he's still mad about her, he still thinks about her, and that she is still the one. Man, will the hot ish on this album ever stop. I love the ocherstra strings in the background.

$3.00

Don't Know Where To Start (ft. Nate Dogg) - This is that laid back gangsta version of Brian we've never heard before. On this track, Nate and Brian talk about the atmosphere in a club, and how there's so much going on in the club that they don't know where to start. A nice laid back track, that is a nice change from all the heartwrenching ballads.

$2.00

The Biggest Part Of Me This song says that the girl he's with and is holding his heart is this biggest part of him. Damn...I really am tearing up now. Where's that damn D12 cd?!

$3.50

"If I never see the top of a mountain. If I never step one foot in the sea. I promise you I'll love you forever. You'll always be the biggest part of me. Wherever you go, whatever you do..I will follow. You changed the way that I used to think. I promise you I'll love you forever. You'll always be the biggest part of me.

When Will I See You Again   – A pretty deep track, where Brian McKnight talks to the Lord above. He says that 10,000 years ago the Lord said he would return, and Brian is waiting for the day that this sad world will see the sun again. He asks, When Will I See You Again.

$3.00

"Lord since you been gone. Everything's gone wrong. Just like you said that it would do. But lord I still believe, you're coming back for me. To take me home to live with you. Waiting day and night for you to cut the sky, and tell we're coming to an end. Tell me when,  will I see you again." -McKnight

For You - The last "Official" track of the album. On this song, Brian McKnight tickles the ivories as he sends a big vocal shout out to the Lord.

$1.25

"Lord you put it down for us, so we put it down for you." - Brian McKnight

Groovin Tonight (ft. St. Lunatics)The thing that could singlehandlely destroy an album for me is having Nelly anywhere near it. But, because McKnight has done so well preparing me for this unfortunate mistake in judgment...I can let it past. I can also come to the conclusion that if it wasn't for Nelly...I may actuallly like the St. Lunatics. NAH!! However, this song is pretty hot until Nelly's verse comes in...then his "Saturday Morning cartoon" style rappin sends in down a few notches. Club track no doubt.

$2.00

Nothing else to say. Its very rare that I actually download an album off the internet and refuse to burn it cause I'm going to buy this bastard. Brian Mcknight deserves this cash and then some. This is an r&b lovers dream right here...get this album, and be blown away.

Album worth: $41.05

Album price: $14.99
