What's The Worst That Could Happen?

A Review by

Vigilante

Like every movie that is released nowadays, the soundtrack has become one of the best ways to promote the film its created for. Let's see if this soundtrack helps the film gain a larger audience, or send it to the same fate that "The Forskaen" saw.

F*ck What They Say (Snoop Dogg)  On this opening track, Snoop tells people that he's just going to keep doing what he does and to hell with what all the haters say. He also managaes to name off a long list of allies in the world. Snoop has really been on a roll as of late, and this track certainly keeps the streak going.

$2.00

Stick Em' (Cha Cha) My girl from the D' gets to lay down a track on tihs soundtrack, and gain a little more exposure. Cha Cha has a lot of lyrical ability, unfortunately her first album was horribly distributed and promoted and didn't get her the exposure she deserves. This track doesn't live up to what she's capable of, but its sttill pretty nice.

$1.10

Wooden Horses (Craig Mack/Frank Sinatra) Craig Mack is one of the pioneers of the hip hop game, but I've never been a big fan of him. Craig spits his verses as ol' blue eyes comes in on the hook with "Oooops there goes another rubber tree plant." Its ok I guess.

$.80

No Job (Sara Jane) The infamous Shakespere returns here to produce the track. How do I know? Cause that un-original "bubble" resides in every one of his track. This track would be somewhat sweet if the beat had an inch or originality in it. Instead it comes across as a track that Aaliyah or 702 did like 5 years ago.

$.50

Everywhere You Go (Queen Latifah/Sara Jane) Its good to see Queen step away from the talk show mic, and pick up a rapping mic. She flows very nicely on this track, and its refreshing to here a female Emcee that doesn't curse and talk about sex like a flower needs water.

$1.00

Bang Ta Dis (Benzino) –  This is a boring song with a boring Mc. With a combo like this...its no wonder how I was able to get through this track without passing out

$.05

What's The Worst That Could Happen? (Supafriendz)The cats from VA have a major shot at exposure here, as they get the title track for the soundtrack. If you've been with Gyeah.com for awhile, you know I did a review of their 804 Compilation as well as had an interview with Danja Mowf the producer of this track and two more on this soundtrack. Hot track!

$2.10

"Is that yo chick, betta get your head right. Cause me, I'm trying to see what her spread like." - Mad Skillz

"I knew my job was lost, they would label me a slacker. Till I found out she's my boss, not what's the worst thing that could happen?" - Danja Mowf

Happy Feelin's (Sam Logan)- We go old school on this track, as Sam brings some real r&b soul to this soundtrack.

$1.60

Whatever Doja Wants (Jo Doja)The second Supafriendz track on the soundtrack, and the best track on the album thus far. The beat creates a "herim girl" type of feel with the hook, and Jo Doja spits like I've never seen him before. This track is both addictive and hot.

$3.00

That's The Way Love Goes (Nina)  – Wow, is the Janet Jackson's version of this song so old that it really needs to be done over again. Not only done again, but done in a way that just causes this song to lose all the credit it once had.

$.20

Music (Erick Sermon/Marvin Gaye)- A laid back track, that exemplifies hip-hop on all levels. This track is hot, and its great to hear the wonderful vocals of the legendary Marvin Gaye on any track today. On this track Erick raps about what else...music.

$2.75

Ladies Are You Wit Me (Dyme) This soundtrack has many tracks that sampled from old school show tunes. Here Dyme spits a track to her fellow ladies where she says she has to wash these bad men out of their hair. Its a sweet track, thats very easy to get into.

$2.00

Shoot Em Up (Doggy's Angels)  – I managed to fall asleep on the Doggy's Angels album, but I was told by several people that I made a mistake. After hearing this track, I'm willing to agree with them. Snoop has some firepower in these three talented females.

$2.50

I Got Duv's On it (Boss Town) - This song follows suit of most of the album, unoriginal songs that sample hard from other track. In most cases I don't mind sampling, but here the track just sucks. (I got Five on it).

$.00

Hit The Road Jo (Jo Doja)On this final Supafriendz track, Jo tells a story of how he has tried to get job after job, but every time he is getting shot down and told to hit the road.

$2.00

My Love Your Love (Lejit)This beat is nice, and futuristic. Unfortunately, the vocals here aren't up to par to make this a track hot on all points.

$.75

This is a pretty solid soundtrack with some very good tracks, and then a few tracks that shouldn't be heard by anyone. My major problem with this album is that there are too many remakes and samples. That is cool once or twice, but for 2/3 of an album it can become pretty boring. I say catch the album while its on sale, or listen to the tracks I've pointed out for you and see if they are good enough to purchase the entire thing for.

Album worth: $22.35

Album price: $15.49
